So I took some advice that I should add another toolbox to hold all the stuff I have been picking up lately.

OldStack (Medium).jpg
Here is what part of my tool box setup looks like before.
NewStack (Medium).jpg
I got that 36" Husky box on sale for $120 about 18 months ago and put it on the Matco. Always looked kinda weird there. The new bottom box is the 36" 5 drawer Hart that is on clearance at Walmart. I started a thread on it in the Hot Deals forum. Really a pretty nice box for $219 if you can find one in store. It is a full 24" deep which is very nice and kinda rare in a budget box.
HartDrawer1 (Medium).jpg
Comes with drawer liners. Nothing special by nice. The Husky didn't come with any. Top drawer is the shortest.
HartDrawer2 (Medium).jpg
This is the medium depth drawer.
HartDrawer3 (Medium).jpg
Deepest bottom drawer
NewStackPlacement (Medium).jpg
In it's new home. Time to reorg the pile. Errr...piles...

Finally got me a Multi-Cut. Never knew they made em that use standard utility knife blades. I never bought the Craftsman from Sears back in the day because of the "proprietary" blade. I know the blades are still available today but I didn't know that would be the case back then. The cutting area on these are much shorter but that's ok, at least I can use blades that I'll always have around.

I only wanted the straight anvil cutter which was $30. But for only $10 more for the set you get the notched roped/tubing cutter & a utility knife. At that price it was a no brainer. Got them from Ronan through Amazon. The straight anvil cutter is $24 on Ronan's website & $30 for the set but it was cheaper to go through Amazon with shipping costs. Plus I had some reward points.

Funny that they advertise their utility blades are made in the USA yet these tools aren't. Made in China but that's ok, for the price I can't complain. They have extra blade storage in the handles too that I didn't expect.

A while back I finally found utility blades that I liked that actually fit all my utility knives, Husky made in USA (w/ global yadda yadda) & aren't expensive (never buying Stanley again). Went to go buy another pack last week only to find HD doesn't carry them anymore even though their webite shows em in stock at all my local HDs. Looks like they're replaced by made in Mexico ones under the same p/n. I don't care if the new ones are made in Mexico, fitment is more of my concern. Luckily I didn't have to bother finding out, found an ebay seller that had the USA ones & for almost $20 cheaper than what I would've paid from HD even with shipping costs.

The Ronan shipment arrived a day late & the ebay shipment arrived a day early so got them all the same day. :)

@darkzero take a look at lenox utility blades. I use the lenox gold blades and I have been super happy with their durability and sharpness.

I have one of those multicut handles... never seen the loop one before. I use the other one all the time. It's in my go bag. AND... yea... you have enough blades for a year or so.

Yeah I like Lenox, been using their bandsaw & hacksaw blades for many years. I use the Lenox Carbide edge blades in my pocket/edc utility knife.

The Huskys are general purpose economical blades that I like for use in utility knives that see more tougher use/abuse where the blades more often get damaged than wearing out by proper use. Beaters so to speak where it doesn't make sense to use expensive blades.

Recent arrivals. NOS Armstrong 3/8 flex head torque wrench from Cripe Distributing, unfortunately made in China. Not old enough stock to be USA made, but works for what I need it for. Found an okay deal on the updated Bahco branded PWZ pliers wrench from Amazon.co.uk. Actually ordered two because the price dropped by $10 after I ordered and Amazon wouldn't refund the difference, so I just returned the other set. Got a good deal on the H.B. Products TSCS2522B 1/4 drive turbo socket set from ebay. Snap On THRLLF72G 1/4 soft grip extra long flex head ratchet from my Mac guy. He bought someone's old box who retired and selling all the stuff. I have been after an extra long 1/4 drive ratchet for a bit and scored it for $100.

I got those same Knipex cutters in the same packaging? How did you finally get them out of that blue plastic clip?

I had to give it to my hungry bulldog who finally chewed it out.

Harbor Freight haul today. Some stuff for work and the house. The Icon bit set is going to work I’ve been trying to get my hands on this set for awhile got the last one on the shelf. The two dead blows are also going to work I need a couple smaller ones for there they are good when you need just a little persuasion lol. I’m wondering if there are a few different suppliers for them too? Because one has the black Pittsburgh name stamped onto it like my other HF ones have and then the other one it’s actually pressed into also noticed the label being different too. The breaker bar I already have at the house so this one going to work. Had the Snap-on guy quote me one the other day it was like $225 🤯 for a bar of steel? No thanks that’s literally what a breaker bar is lol I’ve never broken any of my HF ones so I’m happy with this one and it will serve me fine for the rare times you actually do need something like this. Picked up the Bremen vise grips for home. I completely destroyed the jaws on my Duralast ones they aren’t as good as before they switched suppliers now they are junk. The Bremen is definitely one of the better in store options with Milwaukee being a close second but these are cheaper lol. You really can’t go wrong with them we have several guys at the work with them and I have a set at work also the small set. I’m happy about the Icon set though I’ve waited on this for so long. I was going to buy a bunch of other stuff too but decided to spend on my needs right now and focus on getting my tool truck payments down a little bit before I buy those other things.

I've also been trying to get one of those Icon bit sets. Not a single store in the area shows any in-stock. Hoping they come back at some point.

A week from now, over Labor Day weekend, HF will probably offer a 20%-25% discount coupon.

Probably, but that's irrelevant if the item you want is out of stock.
Also, those coupons usually exclude the brands people would want a discount on, like Icon.

How is the quality of the Izar Tap Wrench? With the last one I bought, I found an issue with the jaws, they did not align correctly which caused the tap to not sit straight.
Are they still made in Spain?

yes, still made in Spain. I noticed that same problem as soon as I unpacked it and tried to get them to line up but to no avail, but I haven't gotten it to work yet.

A few goodies from O’Reilly Auto Parts. Went there to drop some used oil and remembered I was looking for a few things. The 14mm deep 6 point is to fill in one of my sets at home. Haven’t been able to find that one at the pawn shop so I just got it while I was here I use that size all the time anyway so it will get used. The extension is for work. Realized I didn’t have that size one there in chrome and it is good for torquing some wheels where the torque wrench gets too close to the wheel so instead of using the 6 inch I’ll use this one that way I know it’s torqued properly. I do have an impact one that size but I’ve split a few impact extensions with my torque wrench so I’ll put this one to use instead. Power Torque is pretty good with the tools. Made in Taiwan and lifetime warranty plus since my friend works there I got the employee discount. I’d say Power Torque is the second best auto parts store brand tools under Carlyle from Napa. I’ll never stop buying tools lol. Especially from auto parts stores which I’ve really come to love their tools lol.

Nope. I don’t have any of their impact extensions. They were Pittsburgh lol 😂.

I finally wore out some puttsburgh extensions after 7 or so years. Wouldn't stay on a gun at all, totally wallowed out.

Other than that they've been great. I've given away the annoying to use but otherwise working ones, and bought some fresh stuff. Just a great value.

I agree. I’d rather get 7 years out of these than spend ridiculous money on the tool truck for them. That’s one thing I won’t buy on the tool truck.

Blake if you're investing half of what you spend on tools, you should be able to retire when you are in your early 40's..

I spent a lot of money on booze and women after turning 18, the rest I just wasted...

Was just wondering if his employer was putting up an addition to keep all Blake's tools, :ROFLMAO:

I did not manage to solve it either. I had the tap wrench replaced. I think the issue results from non symmetrical jaws.

Hey Blake, since you are an O'Reilly shopper. You need to look for these next time you are there.
Power Torque 9 Piece 1/4 Inch Drive Standard 6 Point Metric Socket Set Part # GM4234.

There is also a set in SAE GM4233. they are on sale this month. They are a nice extremely low profile 1/4 drive socket set that can be used on both a regular ratchet and with a pass-thru ratchet.

I actually have the metric set I got about 2 months ago. Very handy so far for the times I’ve needed it. I might buy the SAE set soon.
