The screwdriver on the top is definitely made by "PB Swiss", yet it's branded "Garant" and has the same logo as PB Swiss tools.

What's the link here? Does PB Swiss make tools for other brands? Why would the Garant brand have the same logo as PB Swiss? (talking about the logo of a man rolling a wheel that's seen on both the Garant and BP Swiss screwdrivers in the photo).

Thanks

Ok, now I understand about the Garant screwdrivers, but why is the Hofmann logo printed on the screwdriver in the middle, the one branded PB Swiss tools?

Hoffmann sells PB Swiss aswell as there own toolbrands (garant, holex).
The PBSwiss in the picture is one bought from Hofmann, hence the hofmann logo and partnr.

As a side note, you can order tools from PBSwiss with any colour, handle, text, branding, symbols etc.. you want.

Received my Hoffman-Group catalog today in the mail.
Holy ****! Is what first came to mind. Over 1600 pages just for the tool section.
They sent a second book which contains all the tool storage items (over 450 pages).
It's not just Pbswiss and Garant/Holex.

Some of the Garant tools look suspiciously like Stahlwille.
Awesome company since they can obtain nearly all the top tool brands from around the globe. All consolidated into one massive catalog. Or they can special order.
Pricing is good and bad. You have to hunt.

Really bugs me the fact that companies like Hazet, Knipex, Stahlwille, NWS, Bahco, Gedore, etc. Have created their own manuf. codes for items.
Hoffmann-Group creates entirely new codes so it's a giant game of figuring out exactly which sets correspond to Hoffmann's catalog code.

Here's what i mean about the same sets just labeled with either Holex or Garant.
I wonder if it's exactly the same as Stahlwille just at a cheaper price.

So basically, if you want *"Near"* Stahlwille Quality without the price.
Just purchase Garant.

so they are the exact same?

and thank you for the photos

Well, they are definitely not the exact same. The socket doesn't have the knurling that an equivalent Stahlwille would. The beam profile on the wrench is slightly different as well.

....and who knows whether there's some differences at one or more of the production stages....but that's mere speculation on my part.

Welding is obviously different too. . .
AH!
So many choices.
I think for hand tools, I'd rather just purchase the best I can.

Thanks for the comparison photos, It's nice to see a more realistic picture than what's seen in a catalog

Has anyone compare Holex and Matador? Which one is sturdiest?

I can't comment on sturdyness but Holex products always struck me as no name made in China stuff. The finish on most of their tools is piss poor. I've seen stuff really made in China that looked better.

i saw several Holex spanners on marketplace, the price are lower compare to Matador and yes I feel tempted to buy. Luckily i asked this forum first, now I decide to buy Matador spanners instead. Thanks a lot!
