So I’m sure others have noticed the 24” DeWalt drum fan on sale at Costco for $99. Does anyone here have experience with it? I need a portable fan for cooling either the garage or the carport depending on where I’m working, and I’ve been known to put a fan on parts that need to dry faster as well as using a fan to blow away fumes or grinding dust.
I picked up the DeWalt yesterday and love the wheels/handle/variable control, but the air velocity is noticeably less than my much smaller $60 Lasko Wind Machine. However, the DeWalt seems to disperse the air in a larger area while the Wind Machine seems more concentrated/directional. I have no idea if the DeWalt is actually putting out more air or not…it’s advertised as putting out close to 2,000cfm more so I’m a bit perplexed by the lower velocity. It does take up more floor space and is louder. It’s fall now though, and I’m not painting anything, so it’s kinda hard for me to really test it right now.
Has anyone used this fan enough to know if it’s worth the price and extra space it takes up, or is just cheap generic junk with the DeWalt name on it kinda like my SnapOn coffee mug?
