I just bought a NOS Duralast 3/8 flex ratchet from a local tool dealer my company has an account with. The part number is 73-871 and it has the 72T on the ratchet head. I know this was a few models ago, but I cannot find anything online about a repair/rebuild kit for it. I cleaned and lubricated it and it feels really strong and smooth. Does anyone know if there are repair kits available for the Duralast ratchet line? Auto Zone is no help

Not sure about older but current & last couple 3 years duralast / autozone ratchets are apex soucered & identical to SATA & husky...

Have a couple each banging around here. Laid out side by side all are identical.

The duralast warranty is about as close as it gets to the old Sears trip... walk in busted walk out new. I'm a fan.

If it's working fine, why do you need a repair kit?
If I am gona add this to my semi-daily ratchet set, then I don’t wana get too attached to it if there wont be a repair kit for the future. As far as warranty, I do not care for the newer Duralast ratchets, which is what would be given to me as a replacement should I need it. If I can grab a couple repair kits now, I will

I see the newest flex head fine tooth has 100 teeth and looks similar to older model. Are you totally married to older model? The new model is $36.

Here's a repair kit from Amazon. Comments section says it fits 73-871 Duralast ratchets:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N5A3AXO/?tag=atomicindus08-20

I guess you could also just see if OEM ratchets: 22912, 22910, 22911 are available anywhere. One should be a flexhead...is this your flexhead ratchet?

Looks pretty identical, with the exception of the screw holes going through the head of the ratchet, as mine go through the cover plate on the rear

Well it appears that 73-871 was also the part number for the Duralast 3/8 flex head back when they were 36 tooth ratchets. So when they went to the 72 tooth design, the part number did not change. So yes, the OEM Tools rebuild kit 22914 does fit the Duralast 73-871 ratchet, but the kit is a 36 tooth kit, so it only fits the older 36 tooth Duralast 73-871. The internal design is similar, with the big batwing pawl, but the kit only comes in the 36 tooth orientation. Still searching to see what rebuild kit will work for the newer 72 tooth Duralast ratchets. Did any other company use this batwing design in a 72 tooth ratchet? Anyone else have any info?

Here is what the head on my ratchet looks like versus the older 36 tooth ratchet with the same part number. Notice there are no screw holes through the head, as they go through the rear cover plate instead. Also the 72T and 5 degree etchings were not on the old ratchet.

Im not understanding how im sounding cheap. Its just a ratchet i am really enjoying using and it would be nice to know that there is a rebuild kit for it, should i need it in the future. Warranty doesnt mean much now that the newer Duralast offerings seem to get poor reviews.

Hey man, I have a 1/4” and there are several things I like about it!
Not sure on the manufacturer, but Powerbuilt offers the same ratchet.

By the way, do you mind giving me the part number off the handle?

Honestly, by the time that ratchet shits its pants, you'' be ready to try something new.

Otherwise, just go to Ebay and buy a few of the same ratchet.
