The rear man door to my garage has a wooden jamb and aluminum sill. I get a lot of wind driven snow against this door which caused the jamb on the latch side to get wet (I thought Bear paint exterior was good it is ****). The lower 10 inches of jamb are deteriorating but not completely. Can I clean out the rot and then Bondo the jamb? To remove the jamb is a major job vinyl siding outside trim inside who knows how many nails were used. Any other suggestions? Thanks

Yes I have done this on a couple of door jambs, I used wood hardener after the big chunks or rot removed then used Bondo to create the jamb then shaved it down and sanded it. Then painted it. Worked fine for me.

I have also done this the other way with cutting out the rot with a oscillating tool and replacing it with ground rated presssure treated wood.

once the wood has started to rot, it will continue . bondo is good on wood, it will work but if it gets wet it swells. Look at it as a shorter term fix and plan on a more thorough fix down the road

Lowes or HD sells the sill like these... there are few other variety when I was replacing my front door one. Just take out old, and replace new. well you might have to cut something to make it fit.

Hand tool wise, I just used the vibrating oscillating blade , bfh , crow bar and a compound miter saw to trim the sill

as far as door jamb.. they sell those as well... or at this point just replace the whole door would have been easier. a sawzall will work wonders

If you cut out the jam, will you be cutting out one of the door hinge mount areas? If so you might want to use real wood as the replacement piece. BTW the way, if you don't have an oscillating tool now is the time to justify buying one. I count mine as one of the best tool purchases I have ever made.
