I have a post frame building I am putting up right now, doing interior wall work is in the near future.

One thing I want to be able to do is hose down the concrete and not be too concerned about the wood soaking it up. I am not looking to go nuts with the water, just wash it out sometimes.

Is there a good sealer I can use to 'caulk' the bottom board/concrete and have it go maybe 1/2" up the bottom board?

Marine epoxy. you'd need to seal the edge and both sides of the board before install - any pinhole is going to cause problems.

I think I'd rather see you "stand off" the bottom of the board with something like PVC trim maybe? Seems like that would be a better solution.

Back when I was in high school, a friend's dad was redoing their bathroom. In the shower, he used wood and painted it with black urethane paint. The wood has seen 20yr worth of showers now and hasn't rotted or warped.

You could also install some of this old standard plastic trim over a large bead of your favorite sealer in the corner formed by the floor and the first board.
But I also agree w/ jack stand that board should be PT.

See what the gang here recommends for caulk. Sika has some good caulk but I'm not sure about it with wood. I've had tremendous luck with OSI quad caulking and it's easy to find. The oil part of your concern is the wild card in my thinking.

I have a similar issue on the outside. Someone on here recommended zip systems liquid flashing. I just bought a tube from amazon to try out.

Read some stuff on it and seems like it will do the job, may work for you also.
