Most likely not, they also spelled things phonetically, are sellers this stupid? Wait, I know the answer to that already......

Another day that had little to no productivity. I am not sure what is going on, the weather was great, and I kind of trapped myself inside. I think I am burned out and I just couldn't feel it because I was doing so much, now I have had several setbacks in the last few days that have taken the wind out of my sails. Some of the stuff is going to get worse because I sacrificed what was left of my temporary office to get things finished and now I am at the mercy of a contractor that just can't be bothered to fix what he screwed up in a timely manor. The painter is working on the place tomorrow and Friday, so I can't do anything up there, but in theory, we should have the front office space finished this week, then I can move stuff into there. That would be nice, I am pretty sure something else will transpire before then, something that will make it so I can't get done what needs to be done............

Go to the auction tomorrow and have a good time, eat a raunchy auction burger. Don't buy anything you can't carry to the truck tomorrow afternoon 'caus it's going to rain like a mofo Friday.
I was thinking about going but I'm getting overwhelmed by "before it snows" stuff.

If it took 2 years to get office done you would have been better off doing it yourself.

I definitely would have been better off doing it myself, hindsight is 20/20. :(

I think the best thing would have been to hire someone that I could have worked with, like Pines suggested, the first guy only worked on Saturdays and that happened to be the only day I had help on my stuff for a long time, so I tried to balance things, but I clearly put too much trust in the contractor. It isn’t that I wasn’t involved, I just never took out a level and checked, if you saw the process he went through, anyone would have thought he had it dialed in. Apparently, he didn’t understand how to actually use the tools and make the floor truly level, or at least close, there is still a good inch of deviation in some places.

As for the auction, I am going, I will probably buy something that requires more than the Blurb to haul, and I will probably regret it later. ;)

At least I am not going into this blind.

I have to clean up the office space a bit so the painter has room to get hinge done, then I am going to feed Chuck and head to the auction.

I wish I could Kay, there is some stuff there that if I can get it for a good deal, it will save me a bunch of money in the near future. It is always fun, last auction I was pretty good, I spent about $60 for two tires. Haven’t used them yet, but they fit Clark and there are a couple tires that have seen better days, I expect to use them this winter when the main lift ram gets sent out to be rebuilt.

That would infuriate me; getting it level has to be about the most important thing about installing a floor, and it would piss me off every time I walked into the office.

Had a similar issue when we had a patio installed. It wasn't level. Ended up leaving it as-is because I didn't want to tear it all out, but it was a function of the contractor hiring the cheapest subcontractor he could find. I'll know better next time.

The propane heaters are these big direct vent 310k BTU units, I figure I can flip them, it is the right time of year. The PVC stuff is large, there were a bunch of test plugs and then some fernco connectors, some of the stuff will become cage furniture for Chuck. I bet I can sell a few of the things without too much trouble. It ***** that it will be raining all day, but everything that is in the rain has been in the rain for the last week and a half. I did get the manuals and controls for the heaters out of the rain, so at least that stuff isn’t going to be completely soaked.

I think we are in for a couple more today. That tarp was at least two layers, so it should be fine, trying to dry the tarp is going to be the tough part, it is huge.

I am headed out soon to pick up the rest of the stuff, will be two more trips, but with smaller vehicles. I am trying to find a window that won't get me totally soaked hooking up the little dump trailer, not sure it is going to happen and I can't find my rain coat, I did find my rain pants, but that isn't going to do me much good without the coat.

Jack Stand has a great picture of the C-70 leaving the auction with a funny load, maybe he can post it. ;)

I think the office will be ready to move into the front section next week, I have to get the internet working and the copier up there, but I think I can make it all happen, then I can be moving things and organizing things as I go. Still hopeful it will be usable by Halloween and I will be semi settled in by Thanksgiving.

Strouty why do you hate that old square body? I do believe that is a C80 with the tandem rear axle, [could have been "Modded" and I've seen more than a few with the wrong badging] the C70 I drove was a 33000# GVW single ~500CI Allison fuel Guzzler ["Pincher" they said] with a 4+1 and a two speed axle. I liked driving that truck, thirsty but man for a big truck it was pretty peppy. Pretty cool with the glorified golf cart on the back! Harry
