makes sense didnt know you did the thickened edge, but i saw the insulation board thatll help too

im thinking about getting one of those cutter bars for my massey 2300 and i think im going to attempt leveling my floor and prepping for the pour with it too but have never done it before. Itll be tough to get the whole thing to 4.5" thick all the way around my 30x40
Here is the brand, it also will protect the front edge of your bucket. It stays sharp and is suppose to stay and get sharper as its used.

Bxpanded

You can get it pretty close and finish the leveling by hand.

Worked all day, funny how it doesn’t look like much. Just worked on siding, trim painting.

More siding and soffit tomorrow

Looks great.

For the radiant head control panel is that a package you bought that way or put together yourself? I have pex run and connected to a manifold on my new build, but trying to figure out how. Going to do the rest of the system now.

It’s a complete panel from Menards, I have to install the boiler yet. They have panels with and without the boilers.

When you framing it looks like a lot after each day. Siding, trim and painting are much more detail oriented. Remember you have to look at it for a long while.

How many times up and down the ladder? That will wear you out. Hopefully your sons were out there today helping and learning.

Soffit almost done, ran out again,
Still need a 3 sections of that to install. Got a good start on the front siding. Hope to get a little of the shaker siding installed this week.

Dinner looks good! What sides will you be having?

Do you have any scaffolding to do the gable ends?

Forgot to pick up some fresh sweet corn, but made some air fried mini potatoes.

No, just lots of ladder fun.

Nice looking shop I like the way the garage door walls are offset. Nice detail and I like the color too.

Got some work done this weekend, electrical is nearly done, need to do a 50A 6/3 outlet and one 14/2 extension for a light. Maybe should have put in a bigger panel, but not sure what I’d add to it lol. Lots there already!!

Looking good on your progress. Any thoughts on what the temperature will be set on during the week when your not using the garage? And if you have to raise the temp to work out there, how long will it take to warm up?

Soon the tool migration from the house will start.

No clue right now, I am planning on leaving it at 50 this month and see what the cost is. Was working in a t-shirt at that temp, outside was 40-45, had to take the sweatshirt off. I'll do some testing soon to see how long it takes to get maybe 60 or so.

This weekend will be nicer and I get most of the caulking done and garage door trim and ceiling insulated hopefully.

Your workshop is really coming along.

I'd say 50-55F is just about the perfect temp for a workshop. If you have it much warmer and your sweating when you work and if its much colder it can be a bit chilly.

Got the last 2 inside lights up and the ceiling is insulated to r60

Probably should have gotten the few outside things done, but those are the goals for this week.

55F , where’s my shorts and tank top!!!!

Very nice build!

How do you protect the exposed insulation around the perimeter of the slab?

I like how you did a ramp section at the garage doors and held the insulation down.

Great build! Coming along nicely. I just finished my heated floor & I'm keeping the garage at 65. But I'm from Oklahoma and was thrown into Indiana winters just recently :p

Coming along nicely. Side note question? the Spotlights on your ROPS bar on the tractor, were those factory or did you add them? Im looking at options for my Bobcat mini and am just curious!

I haven't backfilled around the perimeter yet, I will be moving some dirt this weekend , and maybe do some rock next spring. Long term plan is a 32x18 concrete pad in front.

I added them,(you could buy JD branded ones) made my own, inexpensive LED's off amazon that work really nice, drilled and tapped those, tapped into the factory connectors for the OEM lights. I also have a set on Magnets that use the 12V connector, I can point those in any direction, those are on the sides of the ROPS

I did exactly the same, except used a linear light bar. Same drill & tap for the mounting and the factory connector to the lighting system. Works great especially with the front-mount snowblower that conflicts with the headlights.

Not much since, just kind of enjoying it over winter. I will be maybe drywalling in the next 2 weeks and then working on some landscaping , I need to bring in another 30tons of base for the front/side. Then I can start moving my dirt piles.
