BEHOLD MY MIGHTY FUNNEL!
Er, I mean, I just bought the be-all and end-all oil funnel for 4 of the 6 cars in the Underground Lair. (All of the German cars, 80's VW & Mercedes, and a modern BMW.) I had been using a $17 cheap imitation and it had sold me on the concept. Just like before that, the Lisle screw-in funnel that works on the old Durango spoiled me, too. The only vehicle that I have to stand there like a putz and hold a funnel with one hand in an awkward location while pouring a 5 quart jug with the hood in the way with the other hand is the danged Econoline.
Some reviewers of the cheap imitation funnel available on Amazon have mentioned the plastic tab breaking off inside the valve cover. On my old German cars, the Mercedes especially, yanking the valve cover to hunt down such a piece of plastic would be child's play. On the modern BMW? Directly above the timing chain
. Let's avoid that. So having either lost or inadvertently thrown out the cheap $17 funnel, I decided to just get the funnel with the stainless steel tabs.
Assenmacher OFAUD 1000
Made in 'Murica
CNC machining, knurling, anodized colors
and a gasket? Yeesh. Overkill.
Fits a lot more cars than their website or sticker says. If I ever buy that Lamborghini or any other VW W-12 motored car, I'll have to remember not to use this funnel.
"Oooh you are so big. So absolutely huge. Gosh, we're all really impressed down here I can tell you."
Like many things on GJ, it really was too much money
and it's awesome.
