Two is too many.. I don't use my tools for a living, I chose the brand for among other things the wide selection of tools for the platform. If there are minor shortcomings in what I've got, I'll put up with them over dealing with multiple chargers and battery types. I'm trying to think of issues I've had, maybe the trigger lock on the 60 volt 7" saw or placement of the led lights on the drill and impact driver. (Dewalt 20 volt except for the saw).

The 60 volt battery is usable on all my 20 volt equipment, the 60 volt charger also charges the 20 volt batteries

*** OOOPS***
I was wrong on one point, the charger that came with the Flexvolt 60 volt battery actually is a 20 volt charger, all of my 20 volt chargers will charge the 60 volt battery. I just never tried until I got to thimking about it today and tried it; then googlefood it and found that Dewalt confirmed it..

If you don't have any outlets left and you've already sacrificed the wife's curling iron, you still don't have too many.

I get by with one platform. Makita makes about everything but very small tools.
Someday I'll have to switch to their 40V line.
