Congrats fellow Georgian. What is the height? We have had our 45x50x14 almost three years now and I love it. Enjoy and keep us posted!

It’s going to be 12 ft high With 5/12 roof. Can I ask what you finished off your interior walls with?

MAN! That is awesome! My happy day is coming as well. We are searching hard for a home that will allow a similar build.

Congrats on getting it started, I have one going up currently as well (36x50x14). Wait until concrete, then it gets real!

Where at in Georgia are you?

Hope to get shingles on after first of year. Will also start on rough electrical and hopefully Hardyboard on the exterior sometime in January.

I like the wrap-around covered porch.
What's the plan for it? -- comfy seating after a day's labor of xxxxxxx.
What work will occur this nice shop? - automotive? - woodworking? - ???

Really, I just liked the idea of having the porch. The shop is about 300ft behind my house and sitting on the porch provides a nice view of the property.

The shop will mostly be used for parking my truck and possibly tractor, mowers, etc with the rest used for woodworking and general tinkering.

Ran58,
Nice looking shop you have going there.
I am located outside of Savannah so I am another Georgia member. I went with a 30 x 60 x 12 foot red iron building like Nickstar did but I did a 4/12 roof slope. I also put metal panels up to the 12 foot height in the shop with future plans to do the ceilings the same way.

When I was trying to decide between metal or stick built, I couldn’t really find anyone around here to put up the metal building. There is one guy that everyone recommended to me but he really just tries to erect larger buildings. I thought 40 by 60 wasn’t that small but after contacting Him three separate times, I eventually came to the conclusion that he wasn’t interested, so I went with the stick built.

I see you are in Perry. Been there several times to the swap meet. The guy that did my building is out of Sylvania georgia. He does buildings in Ga, SC, Florida. He does smaller buildings mainly 60foot wide or less and agricultural buildings. He does a really nice job and the price was only a few thousand more than a wood frame pole barn.
My old shop was stick built and I really got good use out of it. Your building is looking good

any updates?
I’m attaching some more pics. Have the Hardi installed and the electrical done. Will be having brick wainscoting under the porch. Will order the metal for the ceiling next week.
