Belt clip for framing nailer

I need to get a belt clip for my freeman framing nailer. My options are a 1" x 4" belt clip and a 1 3/4" x 4" belt clip. My hunch is the 1 3/4" belt clip will have too much play on the belt - leading to movement and possibly dropping the nailer.

Anyone use a nailer belt clip like this? It hooks onto the 1/4 NPT fitting.

I had that one on my framer and it eventually came loose and I had to remove it.

I bought the bigger one to use it more as a rafter hook, but I really needed a belt loop.

Belt clips irritated me. I just wore the hose around me like a bandolier.
You hang a framing nail gun around you by the hose? Feels unlikely with the weight of any framer I have used. Or maybe I am misunderstanding? Also feels like a major snag hazard

I wonder if there's a thin lock washer that would keep the hook in place.

I'm not working on rafters... Just stick framing. So the nailer will either be in my hand or my belt.

Yes. Like a bandito. It worked fine, though the gun is ridiculously heavy. It's one of the early Duofast framers, so maybe 12-13 lbs. My shape and the belt clip just did not work, and laying down the gun while setting rafters n whatnot was not going to happen, the hose bandolier just worked for me. Not a snag hazard, at least not for me.

Thinking about it more, I believe I was having an issue with it leaking. Ultimately it was frustrating enough to just take it off. Mine had the swivel fitting and that may have been related

I used these hooks for about 30 years on all my guns (often need to work on ladders or scaffolding doing finish work too). They work well, just hook it over your tool belt, not into a pouch pocket. ( I actually have a couple hanging around, could send you one)

Would you get one with a 1" offset or 1 3/4" offset? The down legs are 4" long on both hooks.
