I have a 1/2 breaker bar the pin fell out of. I went to Lowes but they didnt stock it. Any way to get it warrantyed ?

Depends what model breaker bar? If it’s the 1/2” drive, 18” #44202 - SB&D Craftsman does not carry that model and never have at any retailer (Lowe’s, NAPA, etc…) It’s an old Sears model that finished up production being made in China and sold at Sears. Last available around 2017/2018.
If it’s the 45201 15” model or the 3/8” drive #44363 model, SB&D Craftsman does currently make them and they are available. Some locations may be out of stock. Current production is made in Taiwan.

Curious----how hard would it be to reinstall the pin? NOS US-made breaker bars are all gone, so any warranty bar would be an import. I would consider super glue or possibly putting a few punch marks in the pin to make it secure.

The "NEW AND IMPROVED" Craftsman Warranty Game is a challenge at best. I did a post about it and even sending them pictures they could not figure it out (Wire nipper & Wire Stripper) Post.
1) Head to any Ace Hardware, if they have the tool in question no problem.
2) If Ace does not carry it head to lowes, if they have it or something similar, take everything to the front desk and show them, if you have someone with a little bit of common knowledge, they will take the broken tool back; you will need a little bit of luck on this approach.
3) You can call Sears or for you younger hipsters that are computer Savy, you can try getting back a new tool by showing them pictures of the broken tool in question; but like I said I tried and failed (see my old post).
4) What works for me sometimes is by pure dumb luck is I walk into a garage sale and low and behold I find a replacement. Not a sure thing but just sometimes you will get lucky.
5) Ebay.
6) fix the broken pin with a new pin.

Post a picture of your breaker bar along with the broken/ missing piece.
A GJ member just went through this and was able to buy the part needed at Ace Hardware and posted the result.
Do a search on GJ and see if you get a hit.

Best way to fix 1/2” craftsman breaker bar
So I have this 30 plus year old breaker bar…the pin dropped out and of course the detent ball was lost with all my 10mm sockets. what say the GJers about best fix? thanks

Toss it in the garbage and move on. HF has a decent Pittsburgh Pro model ($20) that's cheap and works fine. Drive all over town and wasting time on something like this doesn't make sense.
I lost the pin and more important the washer. I went through this with a thorsen and i tried several things short of welding nothing worked good.
I have several breakers i was going to give the new one away but i also have alot of CM tools and was testing the waters for the next time.

Try Ace. Never warrantied anything there but they carry Craftsman.

My Thorsen popped the pin out and the detent ball and spring went missing in the sand.
Since they’re long out of business, the shaft hung around mocking me for a few years, until I eventually cut it up and welded it to my dump truck Monroe body to repair /replace the rusted tubular handle for the tailgate release lever.
Every time I raise the dump bed I get giddy over the fact that I got the last laugh on that crappy old breaker bar that spewed its detent all over the driveway.
Did something similar with a broken HF breaker bar, but Harbor Freight’s chrome doesn’t stand up to the weather very well, so I’ll have to paint it some day.

Did this with an impact screwdriver. Contacted Craftsman they told me to contact Sears. Sears asked for a whole bunch of information including a copy of my drivers license and would not tell me why they wanted that. Went to Harbor Freight picked up their $10 screwdriver and haven’t looked back.

Contact them on the form they have on their website. Send a picture and your information and they usually email back in 4-5 days and ship you the replacement. They will give you the modern equivalent which won’t be 18 inches it will be 15.
I did a warranty last week on a 3/8 ratchet that came in a $19.99 Black Friday Craftsman kit a year ago. Same part number sells by itself for $26.00. Woman at Lowes customer service said get one off rack and bring it back. She checked part number and I was done. No forms to sign and quickly done. I had looked online and found the matching one in stock at one out three stores nearby. I was expecting the kit ratchet to not be offered alone but I lucked out. Toggle would not move.

That’s fallout from all the cheapskates that buy yard sale garbage by the bushel then turn it in for new via the warrant process. Then the sell the new tools on eBay.

What about ratchet mechanisms? Do they replace the entire ratchet or just the ratcheting mechanism itself? I have at least four that are worn out (two 3/8" and two 1/2") including my favorite long flex-head ratchet. This is of course problematic because we're living in the UK right now and nobody carries Craftsman, so it will have to wait until we move back home next year.
