need easy LED light upgrade for garage/shop

Hi,

Need your expert opinion. I want to upgrade the 4 lights (see picture) in my garage to something that puts out a lot more light. However, I am looking for something easy to do without running new wiring. I thought about using the lights I found in the amazon link below, along with a socket extender that would allow the lights to sit roughly flush with the cealing. Would this work? Are there better options (not really concerned about cost - interested in light output and ease of install)?

I replaced 4 F40 T12 twin tube fixtures with 6 of the screw in LED modules that are sold at Home Depot, Costco and Amazon. Bought mine from Amazon because the shipping is included with my Prime Membership. I would have to beg a ride or burn the time on Saturdays that my helper is available.
Installation is as easy as screwing in light bulbs, power consumption is less than 20% of the original fixtures.

What kind of bulbs are in your fixtures now and what are the fixtures rated for ? Hard to answer your question without that information.

I believe basic high hat LED bulbs like the link below. I have no idea the rating for the fixture. It's a new home.

I should have checked before I posted. They are already LED. Just not all that bright. I’m guessing my only solution to add significant more light is to run new led shop lights with new wiring?

I cannot believe that the existing branch circuit would be under 15 amp or 14 gauge. You could produce a LOT of light on such a circuit providing there aren't other, big draw items on the same circuit. My 8 ft LED shop lights draw 65w each and produce 8600 lumens. You could could put in fixtures parallel to your openers from each existing fixture spot but I don't know what you're facing with regard to replacing the current fixtures.

What's behind those LED fixtures?

Loosen those two mounting screws and twist that thing out. Tell us what's behind it in the ceiling. An octagon box, maybe? Or a dome? Or nothing?

And here we. Throw away society has caught up with electrical fixtures.
Rather than unscrewing a bulb, now we yank everything back to hard line and start over.
OP, you will be facing the option for a permanent light with "guaranteed not to burn out LED" or a serviceable fixture that can be re-lit in minutes when the inevitable occurs.

Looking at that arrangement, strips that go perpendicular to the row of existing lights would be worth considering. Even with brighter fixtures, you'll still have dark areas by the door and opposite if you stay with point lights like those.

Your ceiling box layout isn't great for these but if you're looking for ease you deal with what you have. Do you want the light everywhere, or would concentrated at the front be better?
