LOL, let's just say it was a lightbulb moment, when I realized not only that it wasn't broken, but also who made it. After typing the above I went and dug through GJ,found the link to collecting SnapOn and with your info of No.6 found the catalog pages. Amazing what help from smart people, a keyboard and coffee will get you on a Sunday Morning.
lol , Thanks for the offer, but I flipped it onto Ebay Friday night and accepted a Buy-it-Now offer Saturday morning . The buyer shall remain nameless but I believe is pretty prominent here on GJ when it comes to Snap On. It really didn't make sense for me from a user standpoint, nor a collectors standpoint to keep it.It says $3 in the catalog.
I’ll give you $4 for it.

Welcome back! It's the **** end of a 1/4" spinner. Put a ratchet on it and you can use the spinner as an extension. Chances are it came out of a deteriorated plastic handle or a gorilla put a hinge handle on the spinner and over-torqued it.And for the “what is it” category. 1/2”-3/8” adapter for size reference. The inside is 3/8” drive the whole way through with the ridges/ knurled portion around the outside.

Ya def top 5 in the whole deal.**** doesn't begin to cover it, @GhostintheMachineShop!!!
My Dad had a radio like that, don't know if he kept it through several moves over the years.
That Union drill chart is amazing!

Wow. I breezed right over the 3/8" drive spec and yammered on about a 1/4" spinner **** end. Classic failure to RTFQ!chenry318 said:

Having one in my toolbox, I believe that it is the 3/8” drive adapter for a K-D #104 distributor wrench. I found pictures on eBay.

Nice! Don, do you (or does anybody else) have a scan of that insert in the top of your box?

Clearest image I found ,it happened to be Ebay.Nice! Don, do you (or does anybody else) have a scan of that insert in the top of your box?
Gpw, what fret does the body start at? It looks more Parlor/Audotorium sized, judging by the waist. The bigger dreadnaughts had less of an "hourglass"/"figure 8" look. I have both an old Yamaha FG-110, as well as a more modern FG dread, and the sound is very different. One is higher and the other boom-ier.
Thanks! I thought it looked familiar but I couldn't place it. Now that I see that I realize my dad has one of those distributor wrenches in his ammo can toolbox that he always kept in his vehicle.chenry318 said:

Found a picture of mine. Nice grab on the minnow trap. I buy every decent one I see. Live minnows are allowed as bait in Tahoe and Fallen Leaf lakes.![]()
The other case looked the same but was green. I meant to grab both but things get set aside while digging and then get left behind. That lantern case you left behind is probably worth more that the common green lanterns...

I thought I was done for the year but ended up picking up a few more items in one stop at a place that does liquidations.
One 60” tall, 30” wide and 28” deep vidmar storage cabinet that is still in my truck until I can make space for it. It has 5 shelves inside.
Two 33” tall Vidmar cabinets of the same width and depth. With 2 shelves each. One is on the workbench for now and the other stored in the bed of my other truck.
I also grabbed a craftsman roller bearing 6 drawer bottom box and friction slide top box with damage that I’m not sure if I’ll keep or not yet.
Lastly two socket boxes with an Easco 3/8” breaker bar, Wright 3/8” 12” extension, Easco 6” extension, 3/8” Easco universal, deep sockets, and swivels, and 3 mostly complete sets of 3/8” drive 1/4”-7/8” 12pt sockets either Wilde, Wright, or Easco. Almost everything appears new.
I had to dip into the billfold for this one but was out the door at $380. I would really love Vidmar cabinets with drawers but I think I can make these work for now, if….. I can get my shop rearranged so they fit.
Yeah, I love mine for crosspicking and getting a "brighter" sound when playing. Google Martin 000, and you can see why I immediately IDed off the narrow waist. Mine is also a 12th fret, and I honesly prefer it vs the "standard", even though I have XL hands.
Didnt know they were making new cheap imports in that size. What brand? Or is it an older import from a now defunct brand (Harmpny, Flavia, etc) that has been re-bought?

That shelf is a very cool looking piece, I don’t recall seeing another one like it. That will look awesome on your desk. Nice score!Ok I had to do some shopping/liquor run/gift exchange stuff and my nearest Costco doesn't sell liquor so I was able to parlay a Costco run with an Estate sale I had seen ,but wasn't enthused enough to make a 1 stop trip 30 miles one way.BUT I'm glad I went. Picked up a complete SpeedMaster socket set, 1/2" drive from 7/16" to 1-1/4" , some loose SpeedMaster 3/8" drive sockets and spinner handle, a Cornwell deep socket with the pictured hex/square insert with spring tab/plunger to lock onto the socket,a Wizard deep socket ,a Wright shallow socket and the best of all this "shelf" off the wall in the toolroom. I first had to ask if it was for sale, then how much. I had a number in my head ,if they volley'd with"how much would you pay?" , better for me was their number was lower than mine and essentially the tools were free99. After getting it off the wall(and explaining 3 times my Milwaukee impact and bits, which I had retrieved from my car, were NOT FOR SALE) I paid for my purchases and headed to the car. Costco was a success, self checkout line short, quick, plenty of Margaritas in the house now. Back to the "shelf" turns out its 59-3/8" wide, exactly the length of this very oak desk I am sitting at typing from, I believe I have just found my new riser for my monitors 9-3/4" h x 10-1/2" deep, x 59-3/8" long 13 drawers,1 locking door, with keys!!! Factory made, similar stamping and drawer labeling as we'd see on Union and Gerstner chests. I was able to get the scotch taped callouts and the sticker off the door with a heat gun. I may try and give it a bath in some Howards Feed and Wax or even my newer Mohawk"Plush" furniture cleaner/restorer. and sigh..clean off my desk, which may be the biggest chore.
In case you don't realize, that was prior military. That sticker on the lid is a Federal Stock Number.Lastly two socket boxes with an Easco 3/8” breaker bar, Wright 3/8” 12” extension, Easco 6” extension, 3/8” Easco universal, deep sockets, and swivels, and 3 mostly complete sets of 3/8” drive 1/4”-7/8” 12pt sockets either Wilde, Wright, or Easco.
