I've seen one tooling around Lake Mills and Fort Atkinson, WI as well. Wonder if it's the same truck?

Yup, I saw the Cornwell truck all the time when I was building Wisconsin St. Bridge in Oshkosh. The Snappy man in Appleton/Osh is good. He never hesitated to warranty a tool.

Indy... you've never seen the Mac, Matco or one of the several Snap-On trucks? (I am in Green Bay)

nope but then again i've only been on the look-out for a couple months ;) i didn't get a toolbox till february. One night my rents asked if i wanted one for my bday i said sure i went and got one and i went to a million stores and i liked the HF one the most. Then, the next week i started googling reviews on it and garagejournal.com popped up and i've been hooked on tools every since

Watch your wallet when you step on that truck. Without you even knowing it, you'll somehow leave the truck with tools you never knew you absolutely needed to have, and all of a sudden your wallet will feel extremely light. You might not even have money left over for food or gas, but you won't care because you'll be spending all night re-arranging your toolbox to make a drawer for your new collection. Then within a couple of weeks you'll be staring at your toolbox (like a chick stares at her closet) telling yourself that everything else you own is ****. A week or two after that you will have the truck dealers number programmed in your cell phone, his route memorized, and you will start to stalk him. He will also enable your tool addiction by setting up an account in your name. Fast forward another month or so and your ONE drawer with the new and expanding collection will easily be worth more than the price of all other tools (and perhaps even the tool box) combined.

Don't freak out. We've all been there. Just enjoy the process and keep coming back here to this support group.

Indy, we have mac, matco, snap on, cornwell trucks around here. The mac guy lives about a block away from my moms house. Even though I can't afford to know these guys I see the trucks all the time. Just watch when riding around and look at the repair shops.

I have always wanted to go down to the mac guys house and talk to him and see about looking threw his truck but he works long hours, usually won't see his truck till 8 or so. And would feel kinda weird just walking up to his house and knocking! It's probably a good thing I stay away from the tool trucks until the wallet has some weight to lose!

There's a Snap On, Matco, & Cornwell that come to my work. The matco dealer seemed real nice, but the SO dealer didn't seem too smart, tried to tell me that snap on never made a KR537 because he could find no info on it anywhere. Never met the cornwell dealer. Only thing we don't have a Mac dealer, and I know one from a previous job.

Indy you live in WI see if you can get a tour of the Snap on plant that would be awesome. Just call them up and ask whats the worst that could happen?

them telling me no.... that'd be pretty bad :lol_hitti

You will have to get used to rejection because theres going to be alot of it in life nothing you or anyone else can do about it.

Besides I doubt they would decline you a tour.

tell them you want to become a mechanic and it's for a high school project comparing the tool truck vendors.

when i was younger i got into all kinds of places by telling them it was for a project of some type. worked great all the way through grad school... factory tours, samples, spiffs, etc...
