I've seen some butchers in my day, and this guy is one of them. Watch how he "fixes" LED lights.

There is so much wrong with that video....

I'm all for tinkering around, but seeing as how the bulbs cost about $1.60 these days, how much time do you want to spend "fixing" them?
Removing the diffuser destroys the main feature of the bulb which is it's omni-directional throw of the light. He shows this very clearly, but thinks he's found a positive feature when he's actually created a negative feature. Putting holes in the base destroys the "damp location" rating.
Some people have too much time on their hands.

I love how his "drill" is a self-tapping screw and his "hammer" is a pair of pliers.

I save a few dead LED bulbs as source material for repairing other dead ones. No way I'm "wire wrapping" a dead LED. I solder in a salvage one. Same for resistors n caps. Though I do have a large stock of new caps n whatnot for ruining other electronic devices. Yes, my time could be better spent, but nobody's paying me, and I'm having fun fiddling. And I get the satisfaction of having some pretty old LED bulbs. The one on my nightstand has gotta be about 10 years old.

Didnt watch much of the vid. Voice over tells me it was probably stolen and promoted by a hacker channel to just get Utoob revenue.
Why promote the vid by linking it here if it is so wrong?
