These 3 fire extinguishers were already old when I got them in 1984 but I've put out a car fire and attempted to put out a RV fire with them. They have been recharged by a fire chief (at his direction) even though they are too old to be legally recharged. I keep them in the garage.

In 2021 I bought 2 newer ones for in the house.

This thread got me thinking. Just ordered and received three new Amerex ABC extinguishers. Two for the house and one for the garage.

Induction stove is the way to go It's the best replacement for a gas stove.
I was asking what type of fire extinguisher (and size) should I replace mine with. Not what kind of stove. I only mentioned the stove type in case that makes a difference in determining type of extinguisher. Sorry if I didn’t explain correctly.

Great thread. You can never have too many extinguishers.

I drive dragsters and have a ton of fuel in the shop.
200 plus gallons of meth, 50 gallons of 114, and 50 gallons of 118.
After hearing about trailers burning to the ground at the storage yard I started putting a fireball on each drum.
In all my trailers, campers, and trucks.
I bought 24 of them, and so far so good.
Best part is they work when you are gone.

I also think we all should have sprinklers in the shop/garage.
It's an easy project we can do ourselves, especially now a days with all the equipment being available online.

I added heat sensors to my burglar alarm also.
Can't use smoke because of all my diesels and dragcars.
