Common roof truss spans?

I'm messing around with a golden rectangle calculator to come up with some stick built building/living space dimensions. Just wondering, are there common raised heel truss spans, so I don't end up wanting a odd ball span that costs more? I'm in the 36 to 40 foot span range. Or maybe a better question would be, are there wooden roof truss spans that are more economical?

Thanks

Any two ft increments are considered common, usually it really doesn't make much difference there are probably some sizes that big box stores may have in stock but for the most part they are ordered.

My house had an odd span size of 33' 4", and an overall length of 39' 4". I don't think the trusses cost any more because of it. I was able to watch the designer create my trusses in his computer. He just plugged in the numbers, and the computer instantly spit out a design and pricing. My trusses are raised heel, and I had him bump up the wind load from the 90 MPH minimum to 120. Oddly enough, raising the designed wind load did not increase the price of my trusses.

I've never seen a raised heel truss in stock, but I wouldn't buy stock trusses for a home build anyway. Mine were 4:12 Fink style raised heel 40' span with 2x4 bottom chord. I have full span; 5/8" ceiling drywall; and, no storage or equipment in the attic. I'd rather give a truss company the loads and let them design it and send it with nailing and bracing instructions and a pack of sealed drawings.

Raised heel trusses are great BTW. I wish I had raised mine another 12 inches. In addition to increasing the amount of insulation that is possible, they make any construction or maintenance activities you may do near the wall top plates easier to accomplish.

Every truss vendor simply runs the calcs for each job and trusses are made to order. There's no real savings with "stock" sizes because there really is nothing in "stock". Order what you need.

Other than Menards I know of no one that has "stock" trusses. Everything is built by what's ordered, I know our shop does.
Ivy seen some regular lumber yards like 84 or Carter's carry 24' 4/12 trusses as a stock item. How's, that's not what the OP needs.

I would check out the Truss section on Menards website. You can build your trusses a few different ways for pricing.

Lumber yards perhaps, but manufacturers rarely would "stock" trusses unless they are waiting to be shipped. Most everything is built to order these days.
24' 4/12 would be a common "garage" truss.
