Antique? vintage pliers

What I have here is a pair of slip joint pliers unidentified maker. One of the handles is a screwdriver has the number "47" and "drop forged" on each handle and are 6 1/4 long. Anybody have any idea? Thanks in advance

Those look like the pliers that came in Ford tool sets pre-WWII. Is there a M or a shield forged on them somewhere?

thank you very much for taking a moment to reply. If those marks are there I believe they may be illegible because of the pitting. Maybe its there under the rust, where should I look? You know, I will research this. Thank you for giving me a place to start! Also, I am new to garage. I have quite the bunch of vintage tools some of which I would like to sale or possibly trade. How do I determine price? I've always went along side ebay prices.

Hi there Sweathawg, welcome to GJ. As your finding out, there's a lot of knowledge on here, and some very kind helpful people.
I sent a picture of your pliers to my second-cousin-in-law who farms the other end of the county from me, here's his reply:

"Yes they're pretty well the same as my pliers although all my markings are so worn that they're illegible. I'm pretty sure they came out of the Model T."

So it seems likely that yours are the type from a Ford tool kit. Maybe a Model T expert could confirm or add further info?

Thanks Ed, it's nice to have that information to confirm what my cousin says, he will be pleased when I let him know. He's still using his, and carries them on the dashboard of his old hard worked Land Rover. When he gives me a drive around his farm those pliers are in front of me, and when I look at them he says: " Those are my favourite pliers, I think they came with the old Model T Ford tool kit"..
