I'm going to bump this to the top again! I'd like to get some opinions on the drawing and supporting a compressor with out the 4th post. Thanks in advance!

    Compressor in loft?

I'm looking at putting my horizontal 60g compressor on 3 post (6x6) and putting a brace support like the drawing. This would be in the corner of the pole barn. The span would be 10ft long with a 3ft depth. The compressor (5ft long) would be to one side that has the two post for better support...

    Compressor in loft?

I have a horizontal 60gallon compressor that I'm looking at placing in a loft to free up some floor space. I have some concerns about attaching the loft to the post of the building. I'm worried about vibration and was wanting some input about doing this. Should I try and make it free standing...

    RapidAir "MaxLine" installation

Just picked up a 1/2 rapid air kit for 49.99 at TSC. I have a 30x 50 shop and was going to run this down one side and put in two drops. I'm 2nd guessing this as everyone else seems to be running a loop. I have plenty of compressor (5hp 17.4cfm @ 175psi) Does anyone see a problem with the setup...

    Sub panel install/conduit question

I've looked for 2/0-2/0-2/0-1 locally and online and haven't been able to find it other than 500/1000ft spools. I've seen 2/0-2/0-1-4 mhf by the foot from wireandcableyourway.com but I'm not sure what I think about using the smaller neutral? Im open for any/all input ideas or suggestions.

    Sub panel install/conduit question

Lights, outlets, welder and a compressor. Nothing crazy, just a workshop. I already have all the conduit(3") so I need a wire rated for underground conduit use. I was looking at using 2/0 aluminum. As far as pictures I'm away for work so I can't post any for awhile. I've looked at thwn, xhhw...

    Sub panel install/conduit question

I'll have a 100amp panel in the shop fed from the main panel 220ft away. Can you recommend a wire that would Work? Preferably with the conduit layout discussed above.

    Sub panel install/conduit question

Running a panel out to my shop. The main breaker box is in my attached garage. Do I need to run the wires (that will be in the wall) in conduit? Can I just have them enter the conduit when it leaves the garage? I'm having difficulty finding the proper bends to make it into the box.

220 ft run for 100 AMP service

Kind of a hi-jack, but still on topic. I have a 220ft run at 100amps as well. I was wondering if the 2/0 2/0 1 4 MHF will be adequate with the neutral being smaller? Will it meet code? Any input?

    Fluorescent fixture identification

    Already did that, nothing there.

    Fluorescent fixture identification

The ballast is plain black, no stickers, markings or stamps. It has one red wire, two blues, and the White/black wire hook up.

    Fluorescent fixture identification

I acquired some fixtures and they appear to be new, but in no boxes. The ballast has no identification marking. The only marking on the fixture states 60 cy ac HPF 118 volts made by Williams. This is a 4ft dual bulb fixture. Are these T8s or t12s? I'd like to get some bulbs for them.
