    Garage Etiquette

I've had colleagues and customers alike using my tool box as a coffee table, a tool rest or even a bicycle rack. I get told all the time to lighten up as it's just a piece of metal, I have to point out that that piece of metal cost more that there TVs and explain that they wouldn't be too happy...

    Drill doctor

Nah Rutlands don't stock spare parts, tried them today. The guy was really helpful and even offered to just go to the warehouse and take the parts of other units. However he said he had no units in stock. He seemed to think amazon might be helpful.

Yeah that's the chuck I need, the dust tube i think is just the cap that fits In the side of the machine where the chuck goes to split the bit. I literally picked it up for £16 so I suppose if I have to pay $29.95 that's not a bad investment

    Modis ultra or solus edge

The problem I have is because I'm on my own just starting out its quite daunting having to buy expensive components on a whim? If I'm not 100% sure I only have two choices, turn a customer away or take a gamble. Having the safety net of component testing takes all the guess work out of issues...

    Modis ultra or solus edge

It's the scope (which I've never used or really needed) and the guided component testing which the snap on rep is really pushing, he keeps sayin it takes all the guess work out of the job. I understand that its probably really useful but as I've never used it am I just missing out and is it...

    Modis ultra or solus edge

I'm thinking of branching out doin some diagnostics and fault finding and need a machine that it upto the task, I've...

    Workshop paint

I did exactly as you say and went to my local trade paint supplier, the guy in there pretty much had no idea an told me that a lot of garages use floor paint and that once I knew what sort of paint I wanted I should go back and he could help me out! Im obviously gonna be keeping it touched up...

    Workshop paint

Im getting conflicting advice off people, I've been told to re point the walls fill in the cracks in the floor bond using pva and then use the floor paint and it will be fine. Then I got told to use epoxy rather then floor paint. Somebody told me emulsion or water based paint will be fine. As...

    Workshop paint

When you say epoxy? What dyu mean? I've seen epoxy in online listing but thought that was just a topcoat or sealer to apply over the floor paint!

    Workshop paint

It's been previously painted, but it looks like it's been a few years ago and it's all worn off so wanted somethin that's gonna cover properly. I also need to know if I need to treat the walls or just slop the paint straight on. There are patches where the paint has started to flake off and the...

    Workshop paint

Is that just on the walls? I wanted a really hard wearing paint for on the floor in a mid grey, I don't wanna be re-painting every 3 months so want somethin that's gonna last. Does it have to be sealed or somethin?
