    ZMotorsports Shop Projects 2.0

Looking at the Apex 550 dimensions and making some assumptions about your trailer frame I would think you could get it to fit in a recessed swing up box like Diamon C does. If not is it critical that it's flush to the decking? The recessed winch mounting is so clean and keeps it out of the...

Low Voltage Communication Cable Underground Conduit Options

I ran 350' of 1/2" black polyethylene pipe (cheap irrigation line from Menards), it was less than $75 for 400'. Let it set in the sun for a while before unrolling it and it's pretty easy to deal with.

    Truck bed loading ramps

some deflection is normal, but if whatever your loading is causing 2x10's to deflect too much you probably need to pay the cash for some metal ramps. And by the time you get done adding all the extra weight to them you won't want to ever lift them. But if you really want to keep adding to the...

Sanity Check on Metal Pole Barn Insulation Plan

I think you have a good plan and it's similar to what I did. A few tips: Don't waste time overbuilding your walkway, you won't use it often! Make the access hatch the width of your liner panel, and build it when you reach that point of installing the panels. I found that 8' wide plastic was...

    Cutting poly fence?

I agree, an abrasive wheel would "melt" through the material instead of tearing it.

    Deckover dump trailer build

Very nice! I think your going to like the back-up lights. I added a set to one of my trailers and they are so handy, no more tapping the brakes to see.

    Suggestions for welding table legs.

Congrats on the bench top material score! Your not really going to warp 1" thick plate by welding .25" or smaller material to it... If you're going to weld the 1/4" flat bar to the table then there isn't much point in using it. What do you have to lift / flip the plate with? That may drive...

    Anyone understand cross slewing bearings?

Yes the bearings will be able to take high loads from multiple directions at once (axial and radial). What else do you need to know about them? Slewing bearings are cool, but they aren't used in many designs for multiple reasons. Cost is one of the main reasons. If you can get them cheap...

    Jim's Welding Table Build

The clamps aren't deflecting, they're clamping on the radius and not the "foot". You can see what is happening in his last picture. Jim, you could keep your spacing and use the clamps you have but only at an angle to the slat instead of perpendicular to it. And then buy some "F" clamps!

    WIIFM Monitor Barn

Looks like a great design! My initial thought is that I'd line up the side door with your stair way. I'd also make your center post solid enough to mount a jib hoist off of it, here's a reference.

    Fabrication & techniques

I back mine up on a small set of ramps, set the brake, and then hoist the front up essentially like you did. I feel comfortable with my rigging and skip the jack stands. Sometimes I really have to use allot of force to loosen the bolts, enough that I'd be concerned if I only had jack stands...
