Laying out 2 buildings for work?

Here are the panels. First walk through I missed that there was a second panel. Well, at least i’m assuming that smaller box is a smaller sub panel. So the 100 amp is in the 3 car, the smaller box is in a large single garage and fed from the main. House only has 150 amp main panel so I bet I can...

Laying out 2 buildings for work?

Both buildings are Detached. I’ll upload photos tonight. The bigger building was built first, and has a 100 amp sub panel to it. The smaller building seems to be fed from this sub panel, not from the house. It looks like they ran 2 circuits, but maybe it is one. But again, it looks like 1...

Laying out 2 buildings for work?

Wow, thanks all for the replies! I agree with some, a lot of times the layout changes for every job, so as long as there is space it’s not a bad problem!! And I don’t have to worry about heating it nearly as much as cooling, this is in South Carolina. Both have electrical, the 3 car has a...

Laying out 2 buildings for work?

Hey all, it's been awhile since I posted but I keep browsing threads. In particular some of the tool ones have cost me quite a bit. I am in the fortunate position to buy a home with 4 garage bays! But, it is 2 buildings. One is an 'oversized' single, about 15ft wide by 32 deep, 10ft ceiling...

    2ltime's Garage

Thanks Grnmonstergarage, Yeah being busy with work is a blessing these days. But man it feels good to do some spring cleaning, now I'm browsing Menards looking at insulation for the house, and maybe some for the garage

    2ltime's Garage

Small update on the garage, as I started spring cleaning. And the one thing I threw out? Well, gave away... Workbenches I had 2 small ones in my garage that were more like tables then workbenches, and about as sturdy as a plastic folding one. I need to make something sturdy and on wheels to...

How do you cut steel in your shop

There is a popular YouTube channel called 'Bad Obsession Motorsports', and they are doing a build called 'Project Binky', their go to are angle grinders. Some incredible work from the different grinders. So much so, I recently bought a Makita 4.5 in to practice with and to compliment the air...

    2ltime's Garage

So time for an update on life/my garage: :) I realized that this property I am still hesitant to pour money into. Found out I can expand/redo my garage for up to 720sqft within exceptions. That would be 24x30 if I decide to go that route. But I am going to try and save up some more so if I...

How clean is your garage floor?

Unfinished, old cracked concrete floor here. No daily parking, used for car projects and to store yard equipment. I keep it clean enough to lay down under a project and not ruin my clothes, but often it is not swept enough so I have to shake off clothes afterwards. No spills are left...

    Suggestions on repair

If it is thin aluminum, your best bet might be looking into a replacement piece. Too much coating to deal with to weld or epoxy bond it properly imo. Mattering on how much stress it takes, you could probably find a similar angle/shape part made from PVC.

Need Suggestions - Car Hauler Trailer Storage

How often do you drive both cars? How easy is your access to the tow vehicle? I know someone who stores there car on a trailer in their shop, then pulls the whole thing out when they want the car out. Can be a pita, but in flood zones it's the easiest way to avoid water damaging the car and the...

    Ceiling suspended shelving

Those look great! One thing to keep in mind, if you have no cap on the truck bed, you can always make a shelf over that area when parked. Some people do the same for the hood, but I’m always paranoid about the heat rising or needing to jump the cars. But for awhile I had a ceiling mounted shelf...

    Car ramps question

While I am not an expert, my two cents would be that if they are the same height, the set up is to drive onto one set and then jack up the other end of the vehicle and lower it onto the other set. If they are not the same height then you have one for low approach angle and one for high...

    2ltime's Garage

Not really a big NFL fan, and don't have cable, so no time wasted with T.V. on the weekends. But I do really enjoy going to games, so I have been spending a lot of time driving to college games. I'm about halfway between the fighting illini and the badgers. Between that, a few project cars, a...

    What's a comfortable 2 car garage size?

My 22x22 with a 16ft door is big enough for lawn equipment, my crown vic, and an economy sized car. I have no passenger room next to the far car- maybe 8-12 inches on average. Slightly more on the close car, but generally put stuff on that side. I back in the closer car, and leave it slightly...
