So I just got a new truck, and need to be able to park it in the garage when we get hurricanes or major storms. I needed more floor space so the old floor standing shelving had to go. So I mounted 2x4s to the studs with 4" spas screws. Then picked up some Uni Strut from the local big box store and some. 1/2" all thread. The upper channel is mounted with a combo of 3/8" x 4" lag bolts and all thread on hangers in the attic.

Those look great!

One thing to keep in mind, if you have no cap on the truck bed, you can always make a shelf over that area when parked. Some people do the same for the hood, but I’m always paranoid about the heat rising or needing to jump the cars. But for awhile I had a ceiling mounted shelf from some box store that I mounted low enough to fit right over the truck bed. If I parked right, i could stand on the trucks back bumper and reach stuff on the shelf

So final product....I installed some hooks for my saw guides and saw horses. The last part will be replacing the shelving unit with one that has wheels.
