What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Installed the 600W Inverter in the power station, along with the 3 prong 15 A outlet. 12 V outlet options include an Anderson plug (which the battery charger can plug into as well) Cigarette lighter port, USB A ports, and 7 prong Trailer connection. added a cooling fan for the Inverter as...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

This weekend I used the power station to run my horse trailer lights as well as charge phones, and plug in my travel CPAP. Hardly drew it down enough to charge. But hooked up to one of the Panels anyway just to watch the screen blink...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Took the next step in my DIY Power Station project. Added the solar charge controller and a connector for the solar panels, as well as a positive wire cutoff switch. The heart of the system is a LiTime 100Ah LIFePo4 battery (group 31) the box is a rolling Bauer toolbox. The Build was inspired...

    Power outage CPAP solution

I'm building a portable Power Station with a 100 Ah battery. Originally I planned to run my ResMed Air mini on an inverter but found the dc adapter cord mentoined up thread. I wired in a 7 pin receptacle with just hot and ground wires and I will plug my horse trailer into it to power all the...

    Welding Helmet Recommendations (Auto Darkening)

Just bought a cheap Yeswelder auto darkening but have not used it yet. Certainly a step up from the one I found on the highway and have been using since 25 years ago. Isn't there a formula like buying an engagement ring on what % of your monthly salary from welding you should spend on a helmet?

Which airless paint sprayer to buy?

I bought a Graco to paint my house interior in 2016, and exterior in 2018. Never done it before. If it was uneven, then I rolled it to even it out. If you hate it, someone will buy it used from you, and you are still spending less than renting a machine other folks didn't take care of. I...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Welded the 3/4 inch tubing leg back together on a Horse Hayrack. Found an old bolt to put inside it and slathered some molten metal around enough to make it hold. Used a scrap piece of angle iron to go over the fracture to lend enough strength. Will be a race to see if it rusts out or breaks...

7018 AC rod and Lincoln Welder on oilfield pipe

Looking to do some projects with oilfield pipe and sucker rod. Thinking about E7018AC rod on the welder below. I've watched Austin Ross Welding on YT and taken 2 years of welding in High School in the 20th Century. Well versed in welding dirty crappy material with a 6011 to get the job...

Tearing apart and refinishing 3 car garage. Input needed - drywall or OSB?

Sounds like code requires Drywall for at least a portion( adjoining house wall and ceiling). If that is the case and you are going to replace that, then what's a few more sq. feet? I would however put a wainscoting around to protect it from scuffs and scrapes. It can be as rustic, or fancy as...

New mini-split Is it better to keep turned off?

I 've always felt that that is what we have thermostats for. I had a boss who would insist on turning off our retail showroom heater in the evening and weekends. He would then turn it on in the morning to bring it back up to reasonable temperature. Never made sense to me.
