How old were you when you first bought 'expensive' tools?

Not sure what you mean by expensive. First tool truck tool was about 2-3 years ago when I started working in a shop where they actually came around...I couldn't WAIT to get on that freaking truck and take something with me. Prior to that I worked in a place for 3 years-ish and the Snap On...

Got the 51 piece Blue Point 1/4" drive service set off of the truck. I was going to get a 1/4" ratchet by itself but the set was actually cheaper than any of the Snap On ratchets by themselves. The ratchet quality isn't the same as the SO stuff but it's better than the old broken ratchet I...

    Canadian Tire DEALS

41" Maximum roller box for $549. Awesome. I'm using a smaller top box and it makes the top of the Maximum box flex because it's not designed to take weight in the middle, should be distributed evenly (like the proper top box would). I'll pick up a piece of plywood this weekend and get it cut...

    Snap-On FHLL80?

Anyone using one of these? I make poor financial decisions and "bought" one off of the truck today. Didn't realize until I got back to my toolbox that it's the same length as the 1/2" SO flex head I got a while back. I have been using a Mastercraft flex head/telescoping 3/8" ratchet for...

    Need lesson on Tire Machines

Hunter, John Bean, Coats are all fine machines. The John Bean machine we have at work is a great big octopus with extra arms to help you doing low profile tires, or any tires really. Costs a **** ton but it's the Cadillac.

Picked this set up today. Stupid cheap and I've never owned a tap/die set. Had to borrow one a few weeks ago so it was time to get one.

What brand cordless (NOT air) impact wrench do you have?

I have two of them, both Mastercraft. Got a 1/2" impact wrench and a 1/4" impact driver that I usually keep a 3/8" chuck on. I think the 1/2" is good for like 116 lb-ft so it's not enough to get you into much trouble. I buy Mastercraft because Canadian Tire is nextdoor to my dealership...

    Your favorite spark plug socket(s)

Extra long one that works without an extension, you say? That would be amazing for all of the overhead cam engines I work on (Toyota)....I don't know the last time I did plugs on something without an extension.

    Your favorite spark plug socket(s)

What spark plug sockets do you grab more than others? I see some with swivels and extensions attached and wonder how much those actually come in handy and if there are applications where something other than a regular socket/ratchet won't do the job? I've used the same 3-4 sockets for as...

Been waiting on this set of thread files for a while, takes the Snap On **** forever to get stuff in - Said he has to "get his account in order" before he can order more stuff. How long does it normally take you guys to get something from Snap On if they don't have it on their truck? Grabbed...
