Looking into an old idea for lift again just for parking

I had dropped the idea since I had things that did not permit the time or $$ Here is a link to the old tread http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=80388 I was looking back then at the Harding Steel that are really compact and looks like Bend-Pak will be making a close copy as a...

Storing a car - how does Ethanol change things

My car has always been ok after long storage but run just 110 with lead. The hurricane gas in the barrels for use in the generator was 3+ years old with Stay-byl in it and ran fine in everything. It was great to have 6.5 days of fuel after the last hurricane hit. I had more gas than needed but...

    Vinegar for rust awesome!

I always end up doing like E-Teck doing a degrease and blasting. On smaller items like bolts PPG-579 soak gets them

Looking into getting one and 2 post parking lifts

Thanks for the pictures of the layout. The 4 post would block the tool box and or door. I guess i will save a few more $$ and get the 2 post as that would better fit the needs of the space I have. The PL7000's hight would be best with the 119" tall column hight but looks like they no longer make...

Looking into getting one and 2 post parking lifts

That is present hight before I make it higher. I posted dimensions as is, if they would not fit after no reason to tear it out and make it higher. I called / emailed a few places the diagram above and the 2 cars hight and asked what the final hight would need to be. How often the locks are 4"...

My install of my Cheap 2 Post lift. Is it worth it? Maybe.

I agree good writeup what brand did you get? I am kinda funny and would worry about it when i use so I want to stay away. I would rather buy generic rice crispy and save pennies for a nicer lift

Looking into getting one and 2 post parking lifts

The door from "Kitchen to Garage" is what I am most worried about. As I can move the attic stairs. My wife would not be happy if she had to go outside the home and enter the Garage to wash/dry clothes or get stuff from the freezer. Looks like $4800 and up for a parking lift. But I have a car...

Looking into getting one and 2 post parking lifts

The attic stairs will be moved over, and the ceiling will add 28" in center. Plans are to relocate the garage door tracks and install a side mounted opener From the tool box to the kitchen door is 160" And from the tool box to the far edge of door is 197" I still have to retain a walkway for the...

Looking into getting one and 2 post parking lifts

I can not get a 4 post as it would block the tool box from opening. So stuck with what would fit The above is not to scale but does have the measurements. It is square with the exception of the inset that has the 30" wide tool chest/cabinet The red box in this picture was replaced with a...

I use this filter that you put a roll of TP in to absorb water that works great. When it dies I am getting a 60 2 stage from a place in...
