Pistol grip pliers for thoughts. Yes or no?

I have a pair of the Orbis ones and since purchasing about five years ago, I've never touched a standard pair of needle nose pliers since. They are much more maneuverable and user friendly in my experience. That straight line of sight and ability to pull with a stronger grip can make a world of...

Car Panel / Clip Removal / Interior Trim Tools

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: No...not the LaSalle. It's much easier, I don't even have an oil filter on it! We also have a Nissan Versa and a Nissan Murano. The Murano has the oil filter mounted on the passenger side of the engine and it extends to just right over the frame...

Car Panel / Clip Removal / Interior Trim Tools

I'm a home gamer, but I have to pop clips every time I change my oil. Always contented myself with the old screwdriver and needle nose plier routine. Last year I got tired of that game and dropped the dime on the blue pliers type you have in your fourth photo. Love them. Quick and easy. Not the...

Anyone else NOT like ratcheting screwdrivers?

Around 30+ years ago I was gifted a Snap On ratcheting screwdriver. Thought it was neat, but didn't fully appreciate it at the time. That being said I seldom used it and eventually just more or less forgot it in the back of the drawer. That being said, I won't go so far as to say I "hate" them...

Question for the literal tool polishers

A trick I learned from my dad was to rub old markings like that on old squares and such with soapstone and wipe off the excess. Yes, it will eventually need to be reapplied, but it's minimal effort and has always worked pretty good for me.

    Knipex Handles Musings

As a rule, I prefer naked or the textured dipped handles on my pliers. However, when I was redoing the upholstery on my vintage car, I bought the Knipex comfort grip angled head diagonals and was glad I did. When you're cutting through hundreds of hog rings for a project, those thicker handles...

Snap Ring Pliers For Home Use?

I know this is probably not what the big boys with toys would recommend, and it does go against the basic tenets of the Garage Journal to buy stuff just because, but I have the Channellock snap ring pliers. I rarely need a pair, like...once every 2-3 years...maybe. I didn't see the sense of...

    Drill press light

That's roughly what I did with my Craftsman 150 using a pull chain socket. Works great and is like having a mini spotlight mounted in there.

Best Replacement Gas spout for gas cans?

And I'll third it...I'm done with the plastic rigs. Added bonus, if these NATO/Wavian cans fall over in your trunk or whatever, they don't leak like every plastic can I've ever had did.

    Knee Pads & Kneel Pads?

I've tried knee pads, but as others have mentioned I've had issues with them slipping, feeling unstable, etc., etc., etc. and I just don't care for them. Picked up a Husky kneeling pad at Home Depot and love it. Yeah, it's a minor pain to move it around sometimes (mainly use it for working on...

    Mobile work table thing?

I have this model and love it. I did however modify it a bit. My driveway isn't level, so I put new casters on that have a locking feature.

Ever purchased an M12 tool from amazon?

Done it several times. Never received anything fake or damaged. That being said, I would verify if it's returnable in case you don't get what you expect.

    Floor jack crossbeam

I have the HF model and love it for when I have to get under a car. Granted I have about 10" of ground clearance to begin with, but they work great for lifting either the front or rear end clear of the ground in one shot so I can slip 12" Race Ramp blocks underneath. I could hold a square dance...

Deadliest roads series - what tools do people use in the poor lands?

Many times I have heard my dad retell how when he was in the Navy during WWII, one of their post-war missions was to take a load of rice to some port on mainland China (he was on a landing craft). He marveled at how these Chinese were so desperate that they would go so far as to crawl under the...

    Recommendations for Magnifying Glasses

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm particularly keeping the 3M style on my shopping list. I guess I should have been more specific in that I want something that is streamlined and fits like a normal pair of glasses rather than the bulky, looks like I'm a diamond cutter style of magnifier. I have...
