    Stem Wall Radiant Floor Routing

Here is how I routed my pipe. This keeps it out of the floor and in the wall. I think it should work pretty good. Here is the tube layout.

    True Test of Hydronic Heat

I would like to see the test with the foam as well. I have been trying to follow all the radiant threads and everyone and their brother has the "correct" answer. I really have learned a lot on this site and love all the input. I would like to put one loop stapled directly to the foam and...

Insulation between slab and stem wall

I need help. I am puring my slab very soon and I need to understand what I should do between the stem wall and the slab. I have had a comment that someone put the foam 2" below the height of the slab and then cut a 2x4 to fill in the rest of the way. I do not want to have 2" of foam exposed...

    True Test of Hydronic Heat

Ok, I am about ready to start pouring my footings, stem walls, and then slab. My shop will be 26 x 45. I have four loops of 1\2" tubing that I will staple directly to the 2" insulation. I will have two heat sources, one is the hydronic and the other is forced air (I have been given a forced...

    Bonus Room or 10' Door???

I have my garage foundation started (just dug out yesterday):bounce: and I am still trying to figure out what I want to do. The city I live in will not allow a garage to be over 22' high or it can not be taller than the house. So if the house was 26' tall I could not be taller than 26' but...

    Argggg Septic System

When I say I ripped it out I mean out of the septic system. I could not live without it, but now it is draining in another location, not down into the septic. I could not believe they use over 30 gallons a day!

    Argggg Septic System

This is what I did. I had the tank pumped last fall and when I lifted the cover the water was completely to the top. They pumped it and the water literally flowed back into the tank for hours. They took almost 2000gal out. So this time I removed the peep hole cover and found that the water...

    2x8 vs 4x8 sheets of foamular 250

My local supplier has plenty of sheets of 2x8 in stock and only 19 4x8. Is it ok to lay the 2x8 under the slab. another question: I can not figure out if the 2"foam on the inside of the stem wall should come up past the slab or should it be 1" below the surface and the slab goes all the way...

    Argggg Septic System

Well, I am ready to break ground for my new shop next week and I decided to look at my septic tank and make sure it was draining good (have had problems in the past). I found that the leach field is full again. It is not draining as fast as my three kids are putting it in. So now I have to...

What would you do different on your garage

Thanks guys, some great ideas! Especially KenS. Some really good ones. I am going to have a 18' wide by 10' high door. See any problems with that? I am thinking that I will do a 200 amp service to it. Also, does anyone have any ideas on temporary paint booths? I do not do a lot of...

What would you do different on your garage

I am going to start building my shop (26x45) in the next couple of weeks and have a lot of ideas. However, I would love to hear what other people would do different on their shop. I build a lot of customs and street rods. So any suggestions from painting\body working to electrical, to heating...
