Dayton G73 Heater T-Stat Wires Fried

70Chevy, the new one will come with the wires attached to the stat. just unplug the two wires from the boards & attach the new ones. couldn't be simpler. Not a bad time to think about a line voltage stat either, but might as well ge the replacement if they send for free also. dave67fd I have...

Dayton G73 Heater T-Stat Wires Fried

Yep, there suprisingly isn't much on GJ about this issue but it is well known. I bought & installed my G73 in the fall of 2010. My stat started acting up about three months later. I called the place I purchased it from, & no questions asked, they had a new stat drop-shipped from Graingers...

    Looking for cubicle shelving

They are Called Binder Bins & if you look you can find the with backing plates installed. I'm suprised to hear they are expensive, because in this economy, you can hardly give steelcase furniture away.

Sound isolate chain from ceiling with tube heater

Maybe use a nylon strap like a tie down strap for the first 6 inches from the cieling? You could install grommets in the strap or just use a soldering iron to melt a of hole at each end of the strap. That should insulate the vibration from the heater to the joists.

my quote for a radiant tube

Here is a site with some of the best pricing I've seen. http://www.climatedoctors.com/store/search.aspx Installation is pretty easy to do yourself, & the plumbing will be the same with whatever system you choose.

fridge in a garage (in winter)

Well, yes things can freeze, but the real issue (when you have a frost free freezer) is the little heat cycles the fridge/freezer uses to keep the frost off the walls of the freezer. In "normal" temperatures a timer will turn on the heating element once or twice a day. The fridge will then...

How Much to Insure My Garage for?

The other thing to remember in the event of a total loss to a garage or residence is that there is still a foundation, basement if you have one, no utility tapping fees or additional land cost involved. Not having to pay for these pieces that are already in place can really reduce the amount a...

    electrical feed question

They will let you know on the three wire run when you apply for your permit, but if your community is using 2008 NEC rules, 4 wire is required. I would run it anyway, as there is no labor difference, & just a slight cost difference. You will need it if you ever add anything metallic from the...

    use window unit inside

Two more things: 1. That unit is 240 so you will need a dedicated circuit & a 240 volt extension cord. 2. Why not just cut a hole in the wall & install it the correct way?

    floor drains

A dry well is simply a hole in which you dump gravel & cover it with some landscaping mesh material. Cover that over with dirt to grade. It gives a void for water to settle through the gravel before it seeps off into the earth. Kind of a temporary holding area for the drain runoff underground.

    floor drains

Must be by locality. I'm in Carleton Mi. & no problem with garage drains. I have 4, one in each stall. I had my house built in 2005. Sure is nice when all the salt & ice disappears off the floor. they are connected to a dry well.

Amount of slope for new concrete floor

I went with a 1 inch drop (From back to front), each 10 ft in my 30 X 40 deep. Not even noticeable when walking or working, but it is sure nice when it's time to powerwash the floors & the water flows out the doors.

    Naming My Garage

Well, my old garage was a 24'x24' & my buddies nick-named it the Black Hole because once you went in you never came out..... Now I have have a 30'x40' shop  & the new name is Super Nova... so whatever personality your garage/shop takes on should help towards an appropriate name!
