Thanks for the reply WNY. 48” is what’s required in my area. I believe they used 4’ forms around the whole perimeter on top of the footings, so I guess I’ll have to do something about it. I was mostly concerned about lateral stability. I would like to eventually put a hoist. In the garage.

I had the same problem. Turns out the guy had been doing this all over the province. He would change business names frequently so no one would catch on. Had to file a lawsuit and harass him until he finally started paying me back. It’s been over a year, and I’m still receiving payments.
I’m doing a similar build this summer. 28x40 with three doors. Around here, the only wall mount openers I found were chamberlain and lift master. I believe they are the same company and the specs look the same. I guess it just comes down to which one you can get a better deal on.
