The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

Thanks for the offer. I had asked the guy for some more pictures. He said he would take some and I never heard back from him. Didn't seem to be the "friendly" type. I'm not going to bother with it. Besides, the mid chest was what I really wanted anyway.:)

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

I posted this in the Snap On thread, but I’m not convinced it may be from another maker. Anyone have a guess? Looked through some older catalogs, but nothing came up. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using The Garage Journal mobile app

Lets make an all vintage Snap-on tool picture thread!

Can anyone identify this bottom box? It’s sitting underneath a Snap On box, so I took a look through some 60’s and 70’s catalogs, but couldn’t find anything like it. Sent from my iPhone using The Garage Journal mobile app

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

Yeah. I think you’re right. While I’m at it, anyone have an idea on the maker of this? There are some rectangular shaped indents for a badge on both, but the only thing that comes to mind is Tru-Test and I don’t think that is it. Sent from my iPhone using The Garage Journal mobile app

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

Can someone tell me if this style Rem Line came in this color. I only seem to remember it in red. It’s missing a couple pulls, the bottom door, and the badge. Not sure how difficult it would be to find replacements. Sent from my iPhone using The Garage Journal mobile app

Who made this box with a roll up door?

I’ve got a Snap On and an MBC. Very similar. Sent from my iPhone using The Garage Journal mobile app

Found my holy grail. Where do I begin?

I got a little bit of time to start disassembly on the top box. All the slides are good and straight. I did a quick wipe down with some hot water and Dawn to get rid of some of the grease. There is a good amount of paint on the bottoms and side of drawers. The drawer fronts need some paint...

Lets make an all vintage Snap-on tool picture thread!

Some of you may have seen my thread on the K-260 stack I just bought. The top box is missing the badge and I’m looking for some info. Is there a timeline somewhere of what logos were used during different time periods? I’ve seen similar badges to mine with slanted edges, some rectangles. Some...

Found my holy grail. Where do I begin?

This should be the last pics of tools. Mainly pliers. Now it’s time to start disassembly. Sent from my iPhone using The Garage Journal mobile app

Found my holy grail. Where do I begin?

I made it through a couple more drawers this morning. Screwdrivers and wrenches mostly, and an old Weller soldering gun. Wood handled screwdrivers were mostly Buffalo. A lot of older Craftsman. Wrenches were Snap On, Cornwell, and Craftsman with a few others sprinkled in. A Williams...

Found my holy grail. Where do I begin?

Finally sorted through the Sockets today. 90% Craftsman and Snap On. First pictures are 3/4 drive sockets. Then the Craftsman and Snap On stuff. There were also a couple Cornwell, Bonney, Apex, Plomb, and a few others sprinkled in. A total of 1 socket labeled None Better. Next up I hope the...

Found my holy grail. Where do I begin?

Finally got this box emptied out and took some better pictures. Hopefully tomorrow I can get pictures up of all the tools and start the cleaning process. I want to take this slow and do it right. Hope to keep it as original as possible. Obviously the top box is missing a logo and trim, so if...

Found my holy grail. Where do I begin?

We had a heat index of 105 degrees today so I didn’t spend much time in the garage. I did uncover these two tools and was wondering what anyone could tell me about them. There are no markings anywhere on the twist ratchet. Anyone recognize maker? The socket only has the name Bousfield...

Found my holy grail. Where do I begin?

Still going through stuff and found this. I’ve never had a reason to own a 5/8 drive ratchet. I’ve looked at the Snap-On date code chart and can’t decide if this is 1942 or 1952. Any guesses? 1942 would be cool since that would make it WWII.

Found my holy grail. Where do I begin?

I think you’re talking about these? A quick google search tells me they are Vintage Ford Shift Rod Linkage Grommet Separator Pliers. I’ve gotta be honest. I had no idea what they were for until I searched.
