So I took the cover off the motor/pump and just checked everything out. No obstructions in the air intake and filter was clean. No visible scoring in the cylinder, I’ll just run it for a bit and see what happens. The thing looks new and I paid $150 for it, only really gonna use it for filling...
I did notice when trying to research this compressor before I bought it that there are a number of differently designed pumps. I don’t know if mine is just an older model that discontinued or what. I timed mine tonight, 9:45 so build from 0 to cut off at about 150 psi.
I just picked up a Q30 Husky air compressor; 30 gallon, 155 psi, 1.5 hp motor and was wondering if anyone has one and could tell me or knows where to find specs on how long it should take to build to cut off pressure. I bought it used and when testing it, seemed like it took longer than it...
I don't want to have to worry about my trolley taking off under heavy load to the low point of deflection. I know everything will move somewhat. I'm not worried about the floor above, it's only 3/4" subfloor in a storage space. I'll never get it finished upstairs because I'll be moved out of...
Hey guys, looking for some input on how I should go about installing an i-beam in my garage to safely hold 1,000 lbs. This post will get a little long winded just because I want to be thorough, but if anyone happens to know a good engineering website they could point me to to help out it would...
Thanks everyone! All the compliments go a long way to convincing me this was a much better decision than knocking it down and throwing up a cookie cutter morton building or pole barn.
Tarnished, I'm in western NY state right between Buffalo and Rochester.
Got the inside walls done! Been a long time coming and a ton of work but boy am I happy with how it turned out! To finally have a sealed up, good looking and heated shop to use all winter... I'm probably going to spend more time out there than in the house now.
Thanks for all the replies and appreciation, guys. It's been a long time in the works but my dad and I have gotten to spend a lot of time together working on it which is totally worth it in itself. Just got a 75,000 btu Reznor hanging heater installed a few weeks ago, propane comes this week...
Thanks Blackwolfe. My house is an 1860 farmhouse so it's in a constant state of remodel. Most of what I do out there is projects for inside the house. Also for toy storage for my bike, side by side, tractor, etc. The upstairs has endless possibilities, I'd love to do a bar and rec room up...
So here's the inside progress. I ended up getting 4x8 sheets of reclaimed 3.5" thick R17 insulation and let me tell you, this stuff is the nuts. Measure the stud pocket width, rip the insulation 1/8" wider than that measurement and use a little 5 lb mallet and 2x4 on the edges to drive it in...
This is that nasty cinder block leanto that we knocked down. Best part about this thing was that someone had actually concreted the floor back there already (albeit 8' shy of the full 40' barn length for some reason) so that saved a lot of work and money. We knocked the block out and installed...
Next pics are when my father and I rebuilt the new floor at 12' and man, leaving the original lower floor in place while building the new one was a life saver, no ladder work for us! Ended up building all new support beams out of 4 2x12's laminated with 1/2" between so I could get the beam the...
Well, finally nearing the end of my barn rehab so figured I'd post a thread up for you guys to check out. Bought my house in early 2010, the 30x40 barn was a wood floored horse barn with only 7' ceilings in the lower portion and a hay mow up top. I did foundation repair, almost 100 tons of...
