I just picked up a Q30 Husky air compressor; 30 gallon, 155 psi, 1.5 hp motor and was wondering if anyone has one and could tell me or knows where to find specs on how long it should take to build to cut off pressure. I bought it used and when testing it, seemed like it took longer than it should have to build. I didn’t time it with a stopwatch, but I’ll bet it took a solid 10-12 minutes to build to 150 psi. It holds air just fine, no leaks, didn’t seem like excessive heat coming off the motor when it was running. I’m going to take the covers off tonight and check the air intake and basics. Just wanted to know if the long build time is just the downside of the “quiet” series or if there’s something I should be addressing. Going to actually time it’s build up tonight for a baseline. Thanks for any input!

Have the identical compressor. Takes about 7 1/2 minutes from empty to 150psi.

Edit* I didn’t look at your pics initially, mine is not oil less

I did notice when trying to research this compressor before I bought it that there are a number of differently designed pumps. I don’t know if mine is just an older model that discontinued or what. I timed mine tonight, 9:45 so build from 0 to cut off at about 150 psi.

Just a side note, you can lower the shut off pressure to reduce run time and wear. the higher the psi the tougher it is to get to sort of.
How long does it take to get to 130psi?

I have the same compressor in my shop and I'm currently looking for it's replacement. It's loud and slow to fill. If it ever stops working while you're running it pretty hard, there is a 15A mini fuse near the motor. Mine blew when I was using an air hammer to remove tile and thin-set.

So I took the cover off the motor/pump and just checked everything out. No obstructions in the air intake and filter was clean. No visible scoring in the cylinder, I’ll just run it for a bit and see what happens. The thing looks new and I paid $150 for it, only really gonna use it for filling tires or blowing off wood/metal work. I’ve got a 60 cfm rotary screw compressor on my service truck that I keep at home so if I really need to run my air tools for prolonged period of time I’ll just use that. Thanks for the input guys!

I don't have my full time estimator handy but that's a 30 gallon tank filled by a 4cfm pump. 10-12 minutes is believable to me.

Here's a rough calculation. My 4 cfm, 4 gallon compressor takes ~1:15 to fill empty to 120 psi. So you have 7.5x more tank and 25% more pressure. So 1.25 min * 1.25*7.5 = about 11:45 to fill.
