How do you store your Extensions?

I found a fork, spoon, and knife kitchen drawer organizer at Bed, Bath, and Beyond that fit the narrow drawer of my 44" HF box perfectly. I have the extensions sorted by drive size in each slot of the organizer.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Changed the oil in my wife's Fusion. I pulled my truck out of the garage to do it, and typical of my luck, 5 minutes before I was finished, it started raining. My truck was fairly clean, except for a thin layer of dust on it, so now it has big, dirty water spots all over it. And again, typical...

What Particular Hand Tools Do You Own In Excess?

Ratchets and extensions. I have somewhere around 50 different ratchets spread across 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" drives, plus a couple of 3/4" drive ratchets. I like having different ratchets for different tasks, so that's my excuse. I actually think I do have too many extensions, but it is what it is.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Cleaning up a 1973 Chinese SKS semi-automatic rifle. It was preserved in Cosmoline, in China, and imported into the U.S. in the late 80's, but never cleaned up by the previous owner/owners. It is a messy, tedious job, because I am very fussy about cleaning my guns. This rifle has never been...

    Your favorite spark plug socket(s)

I used to have a '98 Dodge Neon R/T that I used as a nice weather driver, and used to run at the drag strip. It had the 2.0 DOHC engine, so the plugs were down a tube through the valve cover. I always drove it to the track, so when I got to the track, I used to swap in a fresh set of plugs that...

Locking you tool box in your home garage

I absolutely put away and lock up all of my tools everyday, even if I'm working on something that is not finished. If someone breaks into my garage, I want it to take longer for them to steal my tools. My tools are organized, so that at a glance, I can open a drawer, and tell if something is...

    Ratchet preference

Snap On Dual 80s are my favorites. Next, would be the Craftsman 60T thin profile. When I work on my Dart, I usually use my Craftsman RHFT ratchets. It reminds me of hanging around the garage, while my dad wrenched on his funny car. They were his favorites, until some scumbag stole them.

Who makes damn good pipe wrench?

My dad has 42 years of boiler installs under his belt. I've been helping him for 25 of them. Ridgid, and only Ridgid. Up to 48" for steam boilers.

The futility that is teflon tape

Not being a ****, but did you put the tape on in the right direction? If you put it on backwards, it unrolls in the threads while you are screwing the fittings together.

    Craftsman Premium ratchets on ebay...

I'm not worried about it for the short term. But I'd like to stash a kit for each ratchet, for down the road. Please say a prayer for me at the Snap On alter next time you're there.

    Craftsman Premium ratchets on ebay...

So, dumb question time: Are these ratchets no longer produced in the U.S.? And, are rebuild kits available for these ratchets? Thanks.
