Thanks for the responses. John, what's an approx. price for an 8' strut? I found out that Menard's actually sells struts but the shortest they have is a 9' but it's only $11! For that price would it be ok for me to just cut a foot off of it and drill new mounting holes?

Slickdeals.net and a few other sites have reported that Walmart is an acceptable retailer for this rebate. You can call Mobil 1 and verify if retailers not listed on the form are acceptable.

Unfortunately the Cutty is no longer around, sold it about a year and a half ago. Too big of a project to deal with at the time.
