    Are Devilbiss air compressors good?

I had that same Devillbiss oiless compressor and it ran great up through the day I sold it. It will be more than plenty for nailers. The only reason I sold mine was because I bought a 220v 60 gallon to run my sandblasting cabinet. Mine performed flawlessly for just under 30 years! They are...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Replaced the water pump on my 1966 Chev C10. The motor is a 292 six. This started out as a drive home with the wife in the truck from a friend's house a couple weeks back. Heard a catastrophic clanking sound coming from the engine while at speed. I immediatly clutched it and pulled over to the...

    Anyone recognize these?

The manufacturing site that I worked at would do a compressed air audit every year. This would involve using a sound meter to detect any air leaks in the plant automation pneumatic systems. We will alway find a few of these types of fittings that were leaking from the connection. This is why I...

    Anyone recognize these?

I've used a gazillion of these for pneumatic lines on industrial manufacturing equipment. They work well, but not well enough for oxygen or liquid fuel, as one person suggested. This is the same type of fitting that is being used in plumbing (Shark Bite). Having seen a lot of these fittings leak...

    Sand blast cabinet doesn't work

Another vote for the TP Tools gun. I bought the S-35-S gun for smaller CFM compressors. I also added a DIY metering valve that allows you to dial in the media flow. It makes that cabinet work like it should!

Relationship Between Air Compressor Motor HP and Pump HP

The clue to the exaggerated hp on the label is the "SPL" designation listed after the 3. This means that the motor rating is "peak hp", which is a useless marketing ploy to make people think they are getting something they are not.

    Check valve for compressor

I just replaced one of those on my Quincy 60 gallon compressor. I got my replacement from eBay that was a US made part for my compressor. It was less than $20 and is working perfectly. Find the manual for your compressor to get spare part numbers, and then search for that number. I saw the cross...

Ever leave the house and wonder if you shut the garage door?

The Chamberlain opener that I installed last year has the MyQ app that let's you set auto close after a set time, and also a close feature if it's open and after a certain time of day. I have mine set to close at 11:00PM if its open at that time. You also can see a status and control the door...

Looking to run a blast cabinet. Can I get away with this air compressor?

I know from personal experience that the lower end compressors by Quincy, and anyone else that has the PAT24 or PAT38 Chinese pumps, are not worth hauling home. All of those compressors now have Chinese no-name electric motors on them too. They have horrible build quality. It used to be that...

Best/cheapest way to bend some 3/4” tubing?

Steel it is then! Good luck with your project!

Best/cheapest way to bend some 3/4” tubing?

This has 3D printed handle written all over it. For less than a couple bucks in plastic, you could print two handles out of black PETG that you could bolt into the existing rack. No welding, no grinding off paint (your rack is probably powder coated).

Wall mount/Jack shaft opener - Regrets

This is what I had to do on my install. The door needs some downward pressure to initiate closing the door.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Replaced both passenger and drivers rear hub bearings on my daughter's Lexus RX400h. The dealer quoted her $3K to replace them. I ordered two NSK bearing assemblies, two new axle nuts, and all together I'm still under $300 total for parts. Thats with having to buy a 30mm 12 point socket to get...

Compressed Air Lines - Pressure Loss

Another vote for investigating the swivels in the hose reels as the possible culprit. I had that same scenario crop up on one of mine.

    So I got a quote...OMG

Your initial bid sounded similar to a closet that my wife and I were contracting out to have finished around 2018. The first clowns company came in with bid just under of 18k. The initial bid was using mdf and painting the shelving/dividers. It was all I could do not to laugh. We got a couple...
