    Dewalt 20v Cordless Inflator

Yes - although one thing I have noticed is that if you set it to a low pressure (i.e. 7 PSI) it'll inflate much more slowly than if you set it to a higher pressure. Presumably this is to make it easier to inflate smaller low-pressure applications, but is a bit of a PITA if you're trying to use...

ok to leave a garage slab sit over winter before building?

That's the way the garage up at our cabin (way northern WI) was done, no problems 20 years later.

software to simulating how to get into a garage with 15' turning radius

I have never heard of any such software. What's the backstory - surely if this is a 'standard' layout wherever you are there are other houses built the same way, or are these custom plans you signed off on & are now finding out there's an issue? Why can't you back up? An aerial photo or...

    Harbor Frieghts new Iron Armor

I might be doing my truck in the bedliner as a test - its not worth it (to me) to get it professionally done so I am thinking about getting 2 gallons of the truck bed coating & spraying it on. I did use the primer painting one of my truck's fenders & it worked very well - as good or better than...

WEN miter saw any good? 70751 10" dual bevel sliding

My HF miter saw is okay - its certainly not a high end saw, but it gets the job done. Spend some time when you get it & make sure to get everything square - mine needed some serious adjustment out of the box on the fence.

PackRat, Horder, Frugal or Just Screwed in the Head

We just bought a new house - smaller than we were initially looking at - and that's not a bad thing. Its forced us to look at the stuff we have & decide if we really want/need it. I have been playing the game with myself of mentally justifying keeping everything. If I can't think of a reason...

anyone have any idea about stud puller?

I've used the Craftsman one a pretty fair amount and it does quite well for the price. Most recently, I broke some exhaust studs on a Jaguar XJ-S, which if any of you know that engine, is a bear to work on. The Craftsman puller got them all out hassle-free. I'm sure the Snap-On ones are...

Anyone ever try a Pferd cut off wheel?

I use Pferd almost exclusively -- buy them in cases from our local contractor supply house. They're hands down the best wheels i've ever used. They last darn near forever - I completed an entire SOA project on my Jeep with only 2 or 3 wheels. Plus -- at least here -- they're $.50 cheaper than...

Controlling Fluids in your shop (coolant, oil, etc)

I just keep a couple of cheap Walmart special 5 gallon gas cans around for fluids -- one for used oil, one for antifreeze, etc. When they get full, they go to the waste oil tank at our recycling center. What I do to 'control' the mess that works well when i'm doing a radiator/water pump /...

    Floor Jack suggestions?

I know the discussion has shifted to American made jacks, but I have to put a plug in for Larin. I've got a 2.5 ton floor jack I got of theirs 6 years ago, put it through all the abuse you can imagine, and it still works flawlessly. Its much better than the Craftsman 3 ton I was given as a...

    Questions about some tools

Personally, I am a big fan of Lincoln welders. In my experience, they have a smoother arc than Miller products. Other than that, all of the big 3 (Lincoln/Miller/Hobart) make good machines that are relatively easy to find and keep running.

    Questions about some tools

Basically, yes, a chop saw is just a miter saw with an abrasive blade. However, the motor is usually sealed to keep the abrasive dust and metal dust from the cutting operation out. As far as I know they do make abrasive blades for normal miter saws, but that is a very good way to kill your...
