    Garage door centering

I’m guessing this is not at all the correct way to do it, but I was able to slide my door over while in the open position. Just little pushes repeatedly for the little that it was off by. I was in the center below the door on a step ladder.

    Six inch vinyl base molding

Worked great for the toe kick on my cabinets and was the look I wanted. Glued it and never had any issues at all.

    Leveling freestanding metal cabinets

I’ve done this with almost all the cabinets in my garage and am so glad I learned of this method. Having the big cabinets a little higher up off the ground allows for easier sweeping to keep **** from accumulating. And it sure makes it easier to level cabinets. I’m confident it makes the...

LED in shop, anybody regret 5000K color choice?

I just went to Lowe's for the LED lights suggested on this site and tried out the 4000K, 5000K, and 6500K. The 4000K were mildly yellow and 6500K were quite blue. I decided on the 5000K, which are white with just a hint of yellow. I want enough light for detailing cars, but not too bright to...

    Beer bottle opener

Not sure where you're located, but my local Ace (Elkhorn location in Omaha, NE) says they are in stock, but just not at their location (maybe the warehouse?). They've got one on order for me and they'll call me when it's in.

My Racedeck floor after two years of use

Wow - that does look great! I debated for months, which turned into over a year, on which type of flooring to put down. I experience all the elements and wide range of temps. and was skeptical of how well RD would hold up. The people here posted enough to allow me to get through all concerns...

    Amazon-Duragloss 901 Car Wash Liquid

"Wash the car".... Some think hosing it off with water suffices. Or, I love when people say "I washed my car today"...when that really only means they drove it through one of those crappy gas station automatic car washes! On the other extreme, others include putting the vehicle up on a lift...

    Choosing Checkered Pattern Color Combination

I chose a mitte gray and mitte white 2' X 2' pattern. A bright white tile would drive me crazy, but these mitte white tiles have little gray/tan flecks that don't show much dirt.

    Floor drain cover

I've battled with this as well. I don't think the floor drain was ever lifted and the basked cleaned by the previous home owner. I had to take a grinder and cut the cast iron grate out, which I then replaced with a plastic one! I remove the cover regularly and clean out the basket. I've even...

    Steps inside the garge

I painted mine with porch and patio floor paint and then put on rubber treads. I've got two young children and wanted to have something that was slip resistant. The rubber treads, from Menards for about $5/ea., are soft rubber and provide great traction with all types of shoes. They are...

dampen porcelain tile/floor when laying ?

Isn't it most often the case where the sales people at Lowe's and Home Depot are -at best- only knowledgeable enough to direct you around the store? Doesn't it make you want to print off some pictures if tiled garage floors and go show the sales guy at Lowe's? Not to be a jerk, but just to...

    Floor paint stairwell

Did you put down the slate gray paint and now want something different because it's not as durable as you hoped? And are they wood or metal steps? How much foot traffic is there? I put down Behr Porch and Patio Floor paint on my steps and on stem wall. It cleans up easily, but I can't say...

    Covering wood stairs in garage?

I'd like to do something a bit different with mine, but here's what I've done for now. I painted it with porch paint and then screwed down some rubber traction mats that I purchased at Menards.

    soft paint

I've used both the spray can and roll on versions of the paint, and had the same experience as the OP. I painted a knob with the spray and refrigerator with the roll on. Both took weeks to fully cure. I did put it on thicker than suggested, and did multiple coats. At least a month after, the...
