Thanks. I think I will need a sump basin because I don't have much slop away from the building. The people who built it (prior to my ownership) put it on the lowest part of the property without building it up.

I don't recall if the concrete was poured on a bed of gravel. I think they may have just poured directly on the dirt. Would your idea still work either way?

Re: Best power tool for general lumber cutting? If you have very little experience working with wood, you will struggle at first getting a straight cut with a circular saw. I suggest you get a sliding miter saw because even a novice will get a nice straight cut with one of those every time...

What is your favorite exterior window/door sealant (such as Quad, Vulkem, etc). I've used both Quad and Vulkem. I think they're both good products but they both have their quirks. I've found Vulkem to take quite a bit of effort to squeeze out of the tube because it's so thick and it doesn't...
