I see. Where does the extra cost come from? Is it from having to remove the shell to place the insulation between it and the frame? Is some sort of woven insulation still feasible after its built or does it have to be foam board?

Its not the price of labor + the insulation, its the amount of money i have available that makes it an absurd amount (to my wallet).
I really wish i could have it done now and be done with, i just can't get another $8,500 right now.

im looking into options on what i can install before the pour. i will be using these for fenders and such. possibly pulling on frames a little. nothing crazy as this is a hobby garage. curious to see what options i have that sits flush to floor while not in use and i can install before the poor...

This building im after is built for 45psf snow load, 12 gauge framing, 4' centers (instead of standard 5') and 140mph winds.
Our area is 35psf snow load and 90mph wind so i think for my area, i am "over built".

They company claims they do not offer thermal break tape. The only 2 options are the double bubble and woven r17. But they want $5,850 for the woven installed on all walls and roof and $2,900 for the double bubble. Im going to stay away from the bubble insulation but i think thats an insane...
So they gave me 2 options..
The bubble insulation and a woven r-17
Should i just opt for the thermal break tape and use foam board?
I called the inspector and hes not too familiar with steel buidlings and said we'll have to go with whatever the blueprints call for as far as the foundation...

Hello, ive been in touch with a company to have a steel building installed on a slab this summer.
Im planing on a 30x40 with 3 doors. Two 10x8's (frame outs for insulated doors) and an 8 x 8 on the side, nothing special.
But im wondering how sturdy i should have it made?
I opted for 12 gauge...
