A buddy of mine owned a body shop and had anchor pots in one of the stalls. They were positioned before the floor was poured and I think when I asked that the floor was thicker in that area. Maker of the pots would have that info I would guess. Anchor pots sound like more than a hobby garage to me. But you asked about alternatives. My buddy also had a huge L shaped frame. It had casters to move it on. The long side was low to the floor and was a heavy duty steel beam. The short arm attached to one end of the beam on a pivot point. At an angle there was a hydraulic ram with an end attached to both of the L arms. He could attach the bottom beam to the car undercarriage with chains. By attaching a chain to the car, he had a assortment of clamps to use to attach the chain to the car, and looping that same chain around the short or upright leg he could apply hydraulic pressure on the ram and pull on the part he was attached to. I knew this was not going to be easy to explain. That system required no floor mounts or pots. He stored it against a wall when not in use. CJDave.
