Edco tools in Columbus and Lima is selling new Bison vises. They are now made in Brazil. I have 2 FPU and one Bison 1275 vise and they are very nice quality.

With both of my FPU vises, I found that the front set screw for adjusting the ways have had their threads deformed in a way that prevents them from being removed. I think that this may be why so many of these vises that come up for sale have damage in that area.

I have 2 of the FPU sliding tail vises and a very nice Bison 1271 rotating head vise. They are quality tools.

For me it is the idea that a good vise will still be working tool in 100 years. Long after I am gone, someone will look at it and wonder how many pair of hands have used it.
