I do agree with that. Not sure what kind of clear coat will work well on bare metal without a primer. I'd rather not paint it. Really like the bare metal look. Most of the clear coats don't recommend being applied to bare metal though.

Thanks :) I am already starting to notice some rust forming on it. I am debating on either letting it get a natural rust patina or putting a clear coat on it to protect it. Decisions decisions.

    Comanche transmission meets Martha Stewart

It has been a while since I have posted anything here. I have been really busy with other things in my life and my garage projects have not been at the top of my to do list. I have way too many hobbies. At any rate I had a problem that needed to be solved. I needed a paper towel holder for the...

    Barell stove - safe wall

OK, reading the thread here and more research made me decide a few things. Going to go with the double barrel stove. I haven't decided yet on using 55 gal drums or 30. My garage is roughly 24x32. Either size I go with I'm going to turn the top barrel into a blow through heat exchanger using...

    Barell stove - safe wall

And my spelling is terrible. Please read "barell" as "barrel" in my previous post. Lol

    Barell stove - safe wall

I am sure this question has been asked here before and I hate to be that guy that fails to use search before asking a question but I ran into a couple snags trying to use search from my phone on both the website forum and from tapatalk. So, please accept my apologies and go easy on me to that...

Electricans - Dishwasher power supply code/safety question

I would put an outlet in the cupboard under the sink. Then run S. O. cord with a plug.

    Garden Tractor Storage

This made me laugh hard. I have been thinking of modifying the center joists in my garage to accommodate a cable lift of sorts for storing my simplicity tractor. It wouldn't be too difficult to do. Would just weld up a metal frame to drive up onto then winch it up so that the tractor is in the...

    Home mechanic must haves

I am on the same page as the guys that say you don't need all those "luxury items" so to speak. Yeah they are nice but you don't really NEED them to be able to do most of what people do in their garage. My tools can be summed up in a relatively short list: Home depot special socket set w/ box...

    I have a problem....

Hopefully I'll have it up and running in the next couple weeks. Gonna take a couple P.A. Days and get it going. With tax it was just about 500. I think the sticker was 479.99. Not the best deal on it, but it's on par with the usual pricing. I feel Ok with it, I know I'm going to get a ton of...

    I have a problem....

Tha KS for the input guys.. This is an oiled compressor, I wouldn't consider buying an oiless. I'll Def build the room big enough to handle a larger compressor later. I'll just use the extra space in there for a little storage.. Maybe I'll build some kind of shelving. I didnt plan on buying...
