What insulation did you use under the concrete for radiant heating?

Used 2" EPS on my garage. It was very cost effective. We keep the temp at 60 in the Maine winters. More comfortable than our house.

    Car lift for home gararge

I bought this in black, made in Texas. http://www.superlifts.com/fourpostlifts/sr7h.html Lifted my Packard, 5600 lbs, with no problem. I use it for storage, detailing and repairs. Has aluminum approach ramps and a mid rise pneumatic jack.

Need advice on concrete garage floor

Have you thought of dying the slab a color? It adds that custom touch. Dyed mine brick red. Increased the cost just a little bit. There are several colors to choose from. Found this link about dyes vs. stains. \

    Tire Rack

The 2002Tii, Vern, gets inspected twice a year and gets whatever it needs, it's like a new car and I maintain it to that standard. I drive the hell out of it every chance I get, did about 7K miles last year. Last year I had to replace the distributor, coil and plug wires to fix a misfire.

    Tire Rack

Built these tire racks out of leftover powder coated garage door hangers. They have stainless steel chains and hardware. Because my garage is a timber frame with super insulated panels there are no studs, so I had to suspend one rack from the ceiling timber.

Best thoughts on filling Nail holes in aluminum roofing

Use Lexel, it is an elastomeric polymer. It stays flexible and doesn't shank or crack like silicone. It's available at hardware and building supply stores, but not at Home Depot or Lowes

New roof : Metal or shingle?

Metal is the way to go. Have to be careful about snow shedding and landscaping, if it snows in your area. I'm a proponent of metal roofs, we have them on all our buildings. On the garage: Snap Lock Meridian in Grecian Bronze. On the carriage house and chicken house: Standing seam steel in aged...

    Installed my Bendpak HD-7 today,

I have a 4-post lift as well, don't know how I lived without it. Also bought the pneumatic bridge jack. Mostly use it for detailing and storage.

    My 24 x 32 2 car "garage" build

I like the tire rack, I tried that but my garage is a timber frame with SIP panels. So I have nothing solid to connect the frame to between the bents. Looks like a great space really like the 'coffered' ceiling solution you came up with.
