I was a Huey/Cobra guy when I got there. Worked on CH-53E's from Dec. 2001 until around January 2003 when I got my clearance.
Are you a 46 or 53 guy? I couldn't tell you names, especially on the green side because as I was leaving I didn't know anyone there, all new faces. This was also the...
Half of this is incorrect. The VH-60N's are nicknamed "Whitehawks". The squadron's nickname for its aircraft in general is "Nighthawk".

Anybody who has worked on CH-53E's will tell you their real nickname is "*******", because of the black exhaust from the engines. But Sikorksy calls them "Super Stallions".
Your son was probably talking about what the pilots do to the OCS (Marine Officers School) students when they are aboard...
When used on a torque wrench, make sure they are at a 90 degree to the handle. Otherwise you need to figure out some math in order to get the "new" torque value depending on what angle it is at.
A cheap way of doing it is to use a computer power supply. One of the rails on them is +12vdc. You can Google for this type of information, very easy to do.
Sorry to bring back an old thread, but I was wondering if anybody has any experience with this from HF?

Ok, I looked at the pressure switch in closer detail today. The part number on it is the same as what is called out in my parts list for the SS5L5. Also a sticker on the inside of the cover specifies "on at 95 psi" and "off at 135psi".
I know it's wired correctly. There's only 4 wires on it, 2...
There are only 4 terminals on the pressure switch. Two for the motor and two for the line. I don't think it's wired incorrectly but I'll check it again.
Is every pressure switch adjustable?
I'll take pictures of it a little later.
Thanks for the replies everyone.
I got the compressor wired up. I also plumbed the drain so that it sticks out. I used 2 90 degree fittings, 2 4 inch extensions, a piece to join the extensions, and a ball valve. All of this was 1/4 NPT.
The air outlet I was referring to is a 1/2 NPT. Since I...
Been on the forum for a while now, never posted anything. I just picked up this IR SS5-L5 from Craigslist for $650 and I have a couple questions.
1. From all the threads and suggestions I've read here, I'm planning on wiring it via a double-pole 30 amp breaker and #10 wire (10/2 w/ ground). I...
