What color interior paint and why?

Hey everyone; So I just finished the sheetrock work and need to decide what color to paint. I'm thinking gloss white walls and ceiling for better light reflection, gray trim and shelves etc. However I don't want the walls to look dirty all the time. Also thought of using black near the welding...

    Garage storage, hoist idea

I would get some "teardrop" configurable shelving/ pallet rack like they have in warehouses / Home Cheapot. You can assemble it to your convenience, it comes in different sizes. They are very strong and when you leave, you can take it with you.

    Band Saw Project

Ah, now we're talking science. I'll have to figure out another method of speed control when the time comes. Thanks

    Band Saw Project

Nah the 'giant old motor' is still only 1hp / 746 watts. They do sell 1000 watt dimmer switches. I could be wrong but this should work.

    Band Saw Project

Picked up this band saw a few weeks ago for a good price. Thought youz might like it. I don't plan on restoring it, just going to set it up for metal cutting and fine tune it to work properly. I plan to add a giant old 110v motor, and an under-drive gear box. Then I'll try to use a light dimmer...

    Hydraulic Cylinder / Backyard Buddy

Hey everyone, I have a tech question about the hydraulic cylinder on my Backyard Buddy 4 post lift. When I raise the lift and it gets near the top, a bunch of fluid leaks from what I think is a relief valve. Other than this it operates and sounds fine. I'm thinking there is an internal leak...

    What about WAX?

@ Norcal That's a good point, having to strip wax means less wrench time.

    What about WAX?

@ kat06 So you've actually witnessed/used wax and it sounds to me like a viable option. Having to heat it before application makes perfect sense, but also something I didn't consider. I am mostly concerned with the ability to touch it up when the need arises. Funny that it was in a hangar, I...

Basement bedroom floor not level. Help

I agree, flatness is more important and if you don't feel the slope as you walk, let it be. If you do feel the slope as you walk, hey its just a basement anyway. Also, I wouldn't use real wood flooring in a basement.

    What about WAX?

Hello people, I would like to know if anyone out there uses some type of wax on bare concrete. The reason being; I never met a painted/epoxied floor that I couldn't scratch or chip. Also, my shop is basically in the woods and under the main doorway is prone to moisture from time to time...

    Hello from Long Island, NY

Greetings everyone, I have been building, customizing and equipping my dream garage for about five years now. I'll be looking around in here to get some additional ideas and contribute to other people's projects any way I can. I can't wait to get things squared away so I can jump back to my old...

    hunter swing air jacks

I got a Backyard Buddy last month. Today I scored a pair of Hunter swing air jacks. The first thing I'm going to do is machine up two new sets of skates to adapt the Hunter jacks onto the Buddy tracks. Wish me luck!
