Anything else like a Stahlwille 920 box?

A shop where I work uses 2 of these 920 tool boxes stacked as their roll around box. To me its amazing! I'd love to have 1 (or 4!) at home, handy way of carrying tools around. Are there any less expensive(cheaper?) alternatives around? Something else with easily removable "cartridge" drawers...

    Lets see your workbench

What kind of bench is that? I'm looking for a good one in DE and trying to get brand suggestions. Didn't even notice your location until I saw what your wall outlets looked like...just picked up a couple at OBI! Brian

Anyone have an opinion on Küpper workbenches?

I need a workbench. I just moved to Germany for at least the next 4 years and don't have one. In the month I've had my house (rental of course) I've found myself needing one often. I had a full garage shop back home. I've been looking at either 2 short cheapo benches with a length of...

Covering a shop work table: what material best

I'm going to agree on the masonite. I had 2 workbenches with 2in wood doors for the tops. I just cut 1/4 in masonite to the same size and laid it on top. I never even had to fasten it down due to the size, but it never moved. I got oil on it and hammered stuff on it without issues. Figured it...

Best 7mm Hex Socket For Brake Caliper Slide Pins

I was trying to get the front axle heat shield off my 97 a4. ALL stores were closed, so I lopped an inch off an extra Allen key, put it in a socket and it worked fine. I've since grabbed the right one, but just from the parts store. Don't over think it.

    Tools from the old world

Figured I'd post a couple quick pics from work. We're gathering tools to make a new box. I really like the grips on those new screwdrivers, and so far the ratchets seem pretty good. The Stahlwille stuff seems really nice. It's what's in most of the toolboxes. Didn't realize the Hazet and...

    Parker no 59 vice

Hi all, I've meant to post this for awhile, but I finally took pictures. My nieghbor was cleaning out the basement and was going to toss this out for scrap, but I saved all 90lbs of it. The jaw opens all the way smoothly, even though there is wear on it. On the back of the slide you can see...

    Terrible smell from Craftsman screwdrivers

I'm glad I'm not the only one! I noticed this when I was a kid, and was just pointing it out to my wife the other day. The craftsman set drawer smells horrible. But the miscellaneous screwdriver drawer (random stuff) smells fine. Wonder if they'll warranty a full set because they smell horrid! I...

    1/4 Drive Torque Wrench

I completely understand that a very high end tool should be accurate at any point it it's range. We're talking decent shop stuff here however. From a lot of reading I've done even the snap on level tools aren't accurate close to the end points. I have a hard time trusting a cheap torque wrench...

    Another bench build

Awesome bench! I have almost everything in my garage on wheels for the same reason. It paid off recently when I had to move everything away from the walls for some foundation work. Love the ABU's btw, unserviceable uniforms are my go to work clothes too.

3/8" or 1/2" hammer drill that has a case

I just installed 40 feet of conduit and boxes in my garage drilling holes in the block with that M18 drill above. Before that I used it to drill holes in 10 ceiling joists with a 1in ship bore bit. Don't remember when I charged it last, but I use my tools more than the average homeowner. It lost...

    1/4 Drive Torque Wrench

Going with 44 on a 40 to whatever isn't going to be accurate. At that point you might as well use a ratchet. As much as it *****, you would most likely be better with two different wrenches. We use Snap-On like the one above and don't have any issues at all.

    Hydraulic Crimping tool question

Thanks for the ideas. I was looked up the Burndy tools. They do look pretty nice. We have connectors on the plane made by them and they've held up well. I'll have to check out the greenlee stuff. Anything in this price range had better be a nice unit! Treeman: Don't worry about the non answer...
