Re: Quick Question Excellent, thank you! Now I need to get taller stands so that I can fit the full 9" extensions under the car.

Quick Question Do any of you disconnect the hydraulic lines while the lift is up (with bars in place, and the mechanism resting on the bars), especially if you are going to have the car lifted for an extended period of time? It would be a lot more convenient than having to work around the...

Installed my MaxJax almost 2 years ago today, and this thread was a wealth of information. About 1.5 years ago I took it down (including disconnecting hydraulic lines) and set it aside in my garage, and this weekend set it up again for the second time. I was pleasantly surprised when it worked...

Thanks again everyone for your help with my questions. I took my time getting it installed, and finally put my car up this afternoon. Seems to be holding well. I'm thinking the pad extensions would be a good idea.

My pads are 1/4" lower on one side (posts are parallel, so it's the same 1/4" difference all the way up). Instead of trying to adjust the columns, would there be any harm in using a solid 1/4" spacer under the pads on that side? 1/4" is well within specs, but if I can get them perfectly level...

All of my anchors seem to have grabbed, and I didn't have any concrete thickness issues at the chosen post locations (didn't hit the bottom of the slab even at 7 inches or so in one case). I consider myself lucky for that part (assuming the anchors continue to hold when under load). I started...

Thanks everyone for the advice. I will wait until I have the other post installed and then factor in pad leveling before I finalizing my shim setup. A corner support (like the thick washers, instead of a solid plate along that entire side) would work best for the post I already installed...

Today I finished installing anchors for one post. My garage floor was thick enough but isn't level, so I needed to use the maximum number of shims (4) on one side. Now the post is level (enough), but now I have a large gap under the inside of the plate (see picture). That gap makes me...

The sacrificial bolt made the ultimate sacrifice. I finally got the anchor up to 1/4 from the top and decided to call it quits. The sacrificial bolt broke when I was removing it. None of my area stores have this kind of tap bolt in a high grade (or high grade threaded rod) so I'll be ordering...

Great info, thanks Slick111. I already deformed the washer I was using, so the plate is a good idea. I was planning to find a box end wrench and use a breaker bar to get leverage. With the threaded rod I won't be able to prevent the rod itself from turning (as directed by Dannmar when using...

I bought a MaxJax lift directly from the website shortly before the holidays, and am just now starting installation. I'm excited! First, getting the lift to my house was a bit of an ordeal. Dannmar provided great support, but the local freight company was not able to follow through with...
